Read JLA #1

Postby Cat-Scratch » Wed Aug 31, 2011 7:27 pm

So it's a meh story that so far is unoriginal.

Batman meet GL, argue, blah-blah about each other, then go to Metropolis to talk to Superman because he's an alien. Watch Cyborg try to pretend to be human since he looks it, in Metropolis. See Superman bitchslap GL and get ready for next issue as he and Batman fight.

The redesigns that are shown in the final pages are in some ways nicer then what we got. Superman still had the classic boots. Sort of got those boots and sorta better with others.

Was it worth it?

No.

Will this keep me interested?

No.

Do I think the sales will dip with issue #2?

Yes.

Will the old DCU come back?

Hope so, 'cause this was sad in an attempt to give something new, yet gave nothing really. Just cliched story and characters with Jim Lee art and redesigns. This could have just been called All-Star JLA.

I think Victor was human at this point in the story. He becomes Cyborg somehow in the story.

Maybe, but doesn't look like it. It's more like he's been enhanced already but still appears human. He was too nervous.

Also, The Justice League of Dicks is more like it.

I have read my copy twice now.

I see NOTHING to suggest Victor Stone is anything other than an athletic high schooler. He's not nervous, he's hurt cause his father blew off the game and the scouts without a second thought. :smt102

Plus he's sweating all over. This is clearly the origin of Cyborg unfolding.

I wasn't going to read this because all that I heard about it was horrible things. I then came onto the board and saw your thread telling me to "Read JLA #1", so I quickly ran out to buy it. Now that I have read your post, I may have misread that title. :groucho:

True, but you should always make a choice of your own.

This is all just a help or not for folks, like the sharing of any opinion.

You know, for someone who complains about people whining, you seem to be whining and complaining about all of that more than anyone else, Mr. McButthurterson....

So what, half the people on here started their own threads to bore us with their GL movie reviews.
