That is a badass Superman. I approve.

And for those just hating this because you have a bias against the New 52, you aren't fooling people.

Now, if you have a bias against Grant Morrison, I would totally understand.

What about both? I love morrison when he's operating outside the DCU. When he's doing DCU stuff it just doesnt feel right to me.

He's not a politician, why should that be his barometer for success? Whenever he has a new album, he appears on all the talk shows, on the Daily Show. He headlined Glastonbury, one of the world's biggest music festivals 2 years ago.

But yeah, he's no Ryan Conklin or whoever it is you're gay for this week.

All I'm gonna say is the for all of Springsteen's pronouncements, I've never seen him as being on the Bono scale of activism. Or on the scale of someone like John Mellencamp, or Neil Young, who got together and started Farm Aid, for that matter.

This isn't about activism, it's about the world-view Springsteen represents in his songs. The old-fashioned, standing up for the working man, soulful blue-collar thing.

You're so fucking literally-minded it's ridiculous.

The Bono Level of activism is the Wanker Level of activism, no one's ever accused Springsteen of narcissistic philanthropy while Bono is often perceived and described that way. And it's why you don't really know what Springsteen does or doesn't do, or how he chooses to contribute. He doesn't shove it in your face and demand a pat on the head.

Well where is the Springsteen song about his home state of New Jersey's governor f   king over government employees and berating teachers? Or the one about the governor of Wisconsin trying to strip away workers rights of public servants like teachers and cops in his state?

I saw Matt Damon having it out with a right wing f   ktard reporter at a pro-teacher's rally. No Springsteen.

It's been awhile since I've actually cared about Superman in his own book. Truth be told, I've always had trouble caring about the Superman comics because they were usually for the most part, boring. The last time I even picked up Action Comics was when Lex Luthor was starring in the title while Superman was MIA. But now after seeing this preview, I think I might consider seeing what this new (and so far in my opinion, improved) Superman can do.

As I said, stop being so literal. Are you a child, can you not grasp metaphor and simile?

There is a particular vision of America that Springsteen's songs conjure up, this is a similar vision that Morrison has for Superman.

I'm just pointing out that in cases where the "little guy" is getting his @$$ handed to him by "The Man," The Boss is pretty much silent.

I had to pay $3.85 a gallon for gas today. Springsteen was nowhere to be seen. :(

So yeah, you don't understand metaphor or song meaning then.
