The more you actually think about DC's new continuity, the more retarded this whole reboot is.

The continuity is more confusing now than before!!

Yep, So on books where they don't reference stuff too much, it's not a big deal. Like Demon Knights. Some of the other books though, they will make you brain explode and start dripping out of your ears.

Only doing a partial reboot makes everything impossible.

The JLI has never worked together, but Batman trusts Booster and none of the GL books were reset, even though those last two things directly connect to the JLI.

Ted Kord never was around, but Infinite Crisis has to have happened for Batman to trust Booster.

Wally West never existed, or played a really small role, but Hal was still evil and Barry still died, even though Wally was involved with all of that.

Flashpoint happened, as seen in Legion Lost, but again Wally never existed or never did anything big, even though he's needed to cause the stuff to bring Barry back to cause that to happen.

Brightest Day and Alec Holland's resurrection happened, which means Blackest Night happened, which means the JSA was around, but they don't seem to have ever existed. And if Brightest Day happened, then Generation Lost would have had to have occurred, but that didn't happen.

All the Batman Inc stuff happened, Damien exists, Jason exists, Tim exists, Dick exists, the New Teen Titans era happened, but not really.

It's a giant fucking mess that makes no fucking sense.

So COIE consolidated Earth's 1, 2, 3 and all that to make continuity more concise but now to sucker in new readers the Multiverse and continuity are more muddled than ever.

I'm so going to enjoy watching those sales figures in the next few months.

I still don't see the confusion
there is a backstory that we don't know yet, but the only people who are confused by it seem to be the ones trying to make this unknown backstory be the same as the old Universe.

Fine, Barry died saving the universe, does that mean that he died the exact same way? with the exact same people near-by? does it matter right now before his new #1 is even out?

I am willing to bet that if and when Barry's death actually matters there will be a comic book written that tells us how / where / ect he died. Till then, why does it matter?

Because some of the books are specifically referencing specific events from stories that can't have happened the way they did based on other things that have been revealed in other books, but which we are supposed to understand as based on the stories from the recent past like Brightest Day.

Like Alec Holland coming back to life, the way it's told it plays out like it was part of Brightest Day, but that can't have happened the way it did in the actual story if the JLI have never been a team.

Or Sinestro as a GL, which references War of the GLs, even though that is built off of all the GL stuff of the last few years, which can't have played out the way it did due to JLI never happening, and Wally never existing, and Jade not existing, and the JSA not existing, and a bunch of other crap.

You have to ignore those things to enjoy the book, but they go out of their way to reference the stories which just makes it a mess.
