I just saw scans of it. Um.. why isn't Rich Johnston posting and declaring this the controversy of the week?

Just clicking the scans I um well.. feel horrible even for reading and more horrible for anyone who bought this shit. I mean you have Red Mist or whatever the hell he's calling himself gunning down kids ON THE PAGE and then raping some character (though that's off panel).
Though I guess they were kids. They kind of looked like little men and women and not really kids.

I kind of think Millar crossed a line even some mature books don't go down. That or he's finally succumbed to the madness that claimed Frank Miller.

1) Because Kick-Ass is clearly labelled as Mature.

2) Because it doesn't fit into the media narrative being built around the New 52.

3) Because Kick-Ass is not a traditional character who kids love, he's exclusively for adults.

4) Because these actions are being perpetrated by a villain, not a hero.

They did the same thing in the Song of Ice and Fire series. I don't see how it is that controversial. Disturbing? Hell, yes. But nothing that hasn't been done before.

Your money is better put on Voodoo. They don't even show it just allude to it. I'm surprised there isn't a thread posted on by you either of it ruling or not on Voodoo man. Come on eltopo were is the Voodoo thread to tell me DC finally did something smart putting an ongoing out about a stripper?

By the way, Katie didn't get raped by Red Mist/The Motherfucker. She got gang raped by several people in his posse.

It was. He said something like, "you're done banging super heroes. Time to find out what evil dick tastes like."

Between the gang rape and shooting toddlers in the face this has to be the most brutally violent comic I've ever read. I almost felt dirty after reading it.

This is why the movie was better than comic.

The comic is full of shocking things done in a tacky way. Millar is a one note writer.

The movie took all those things and tempered them in a way that they were presented as silly and over the top, which made a very funny action movie.
