I've worked service and have never felt the need to complain about the people you deal with. It's part of the job, it'd be like a mechanic complaining because oil is dirty.

Bullshit. You are a liar. There is not a single person who works a service job that doesn't bitch about some of their customers. You have your regulars that you love to see every day and will do anything for, then you have the regulars who you hope will one day get so mad that they never come back. I don't hate the dicks just because they waste my time, but because they waste the time of other customers in line behind them.
The difference between oil being dirty and people being dicks is that oil has no free will to be dirty or not dirty. Dicks are simply indifferent to the concerns of those around them. Oil can't decide not to be dirty, but an individual can decide to not pay with giant piles of change in the middle of a rush or to not throw a fit if we're out of something they wanted.
Something that everyone should know: There is no objective good and very little objective bad in entertainment media. Of the objective bad, much of it is unintentionally hilarious which gives it entertainment value for some people. If you understood this then 99% of your petty arguments would never happen. Learn to realize that you have different tastes then the guy you are arguing with and move on. And before someone calls me a hypocrite, notice that I never go in calling something bad. I always go in to defend something.

Since service is part of my shift. I try to treat my customers the best I can. I can't help it if about 15% are assholes and there's nothing I can change about them from not being assholes to people like us. That they have to have one specific piece. That or DEMAND service before a customer who was obviously before them and they brush aside.

Or try and scam their way into getting it for free. There's always one customer who comes to the store I work who's infamous for that. He spends about four hours every Sunday and Thurs (when we change codes) at the store going up and down every aisle checking for anything off and getting that item for free. He also has to have meat cut from the butcher directly and not from the actual counter and it has to be a certain length with all the fat trimmed off and put through a cuber once.

Nah I'm not lying, I just don't get upset because I'm being paid to do a job. If that job requires me to wait three times longer helping some old lady figure out what she wants on her sandwhich then so be it. That means it is just less time spent cleaning some nasty thing out of the grease trap.

Left out the one question I hated more than any other I could possibly be asked.

"I was wondering if you had a book?"

I worked at the Macy's Women's Shoes department when I was much younger. A woman once asked me if we had shoes, and this is with all the shoes around me. I told her, I'd give her directions. Sent her all around the store, and decided to take my break. When she came all the way back, she complained to my manager but I wasn't there to hear it.

Hahahaha.

I had a woman ask me what was on an Egg and Cheese Bagel. I looked at her and very slowly said, "well.....Egg and Cheese." Her husband burst out laughing after I responded.

I also used to hate when people would write a check and say, "What store am I in?" I would turn around, look at the huge Waldenbooks sign, and then say: "Waldenbooks."

Also, used to love my manager who was probably considered retarded in school that would answer the phone, "Thanks for calling Walden's Books."

I hate when people ask "Do you work here?"

No bitch I don't. I just walk around with a nametag with my name and the name of the place you're shopping at for the hell of it. I'm trying to make a statement here!

My favorite comeback I made to a customer was my first job working at Best Buy over the holiday rush.

Whenever I came in, I used to ride in my wheelchair over to the video game section to see if the newest games were in so I could tell all the people calling that yes, Turok 64 was in stock (and this tells you when I was working there) and yes I could put one on hold for you but only until 2pm so you needed to get there beforehand.

One woman called asking for it to be held, I told her also it could only happen till 2pm and I was sorry that I couldn't keep it there any longer but those were the rules. She then said to me "Well I've got two broken legs and can't walk how do you expect me to get over to get it?"

My response back was "Well would you like me to come over to your house in my wheelchair and bring it to you?"

She quickly and very quietly said she'd have someone come pick the game up before 2. I turned around and one of the managers was standing there watching me. He looks at me and goes "Did you just actually say all that to one of our customers?" I went "I did."

He got a huge smile and his face and went "You do that EVERY time they start!"

Mixed ethnicity does not inherently mean "part black" though. There are many different ethnic groups.
