Fun game but it possesses the same exact problems as Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, which are the wonky camera and wall-crawling and jumping problems.

And it irritates me that the costume that came with the pre-order is just an in-game code. So it won't be exclusive in a couple of days.
BTW, if anybody else has the game and didn't get the Future Foundation costume or got another costume, pm me and I'll send you the code.

Wait, the costumes are unlocked through an old-school extra's menu with a code?
I thought Activision would force everyone to buy them as DLC.

What does that mean to those of us who have never played Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions?

I bought it from Amazon because I liked the Future Foundation costume the best. Today I got an email from Amazon and the instructions showed me the button combination to unlock the costume. I'm assuming it's the same for all the other costumes. Maybe there will be a paid dlc which will automatically unlock the costume without the use of a code.
But why would anybody buy those especially since at least the Future Foundation and Big Time costumes are available in the game. You just have to complete the challenges.

It's a linear beat-em-up game with a good storyline (This one was written by Peter David who created Spider-Man 2099). Funny dialogue. Limited replayability (if you want to unlock everything, you can beat individual sections without playing through the whole game).
But there are sections where you have to do web-swinging and unless you time it perfectly, you fall down. Doesn't really affect the story but one of the earliest (optional) challenges is hard to pull off because your character is jittery.

Sigh, why can't they make a sequel to Spider-Man Web of Shadows? Sure it wasn't a great game but you could play it as long as you wanted. Just borrow the city rendering engine from Infamous and do it.

Different developer. WoS was made by Treyarch/Shaba Games for Activision. Beenox (who created Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time) is owned by Activision itself.
SD and EoT are better games. The first had a plot written by Slott, the second by PAD. The gameplay is generally better. The voice acting is better:

Fuck! Well give the license back to Treyarch/Shaba then.

Activision always had it..they just outsourced the work to Treyarch. But with Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time they've opted to keep the work in-house.

Both Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time are more fun to play that Web of Shadows.
If a sandbox game is what you are looking for, there are a dozen better. Beenox made good Spider-Man games.

Every review for X-Men Destiny says it's a total failure.

X-Men is decent but since you can't play as the X-Men really generic. Spider-Man is a much better game.
But keep in mind Batman: Arkham City is coming out on 10/18.
