I played about an hour and a half of the game, and I'm loving it. My only complaint to this point is that the game absolutely reeks of Brand New Day / Big Time. I got quite used to the camera and controls in Shattered Dimensions, so I picked them right up in this one.

Nope. The GameStop costumes -- at least for the PS3 version -- are unlocked with a PSN code printed on the receipt. You get all four Identity Crisis costumes (Dusk, Prodigy, Ricochet, and Hornet).

Shaba was shut down because the Guitar Hero games were selling below expectations. By the way, Shaba had nothing to do with developing the Guitar Hero games.

If you want the code for the FF costume, PM me.

By the way, if you have a completed Shattered Dimensions save file on your hard drive, you unlock eight costumes immediately.

That pisses me off. Because if FF/Big Time are available in game, and those are exclusive, that's something that they should have mentioned. Then the FF/Big Time costumes aren't exclusive. :smt011

Doesn't have to be completed. I never finished SD, and it still unlocked the costumes.

The Identity Crisis ones are also in-game. The point of the "exclusives" is to unlock the costumes early without having to jump through the hoops. It sucks that the FF and Big Time suits have simple unlocks, though. The Identity Crisis ones are actually a legitimate PSN store code that can't be re-used.

Also if anybody cares, Edge of Time is cheapest at Toys R Us:

http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=spider-man%20edge%20of%20time&origkw=spider-man+edge+of+time&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2254197&sr=1

At $45, that's almost a $15 dollar difference. :smt011

With X-Men Destiny, my copy came with a code to unlock the Juggernaut costume. I started playing the game without using any code, and within the first couple of levels, I had already found the costume. Finding the costumes and X-Genes in that game are all completely random. The costume codes are quite pointless. Hopefully it's different with Shattered Dimensions.

Personally, I'm a bit leary about picking up Shattered Dimensions after getting Destiny.

I leafed through the game guide for Destiny at Gamestop. They said that the Juggernaut and Emma Frost costumes were common, and that the Havok costume was rare. Which is why I put in a pre-order for the Havok costume instead of the other ones.

In Edge of Time (I assume that's what you meant ... Shattered Dimensions was the previous game), you have to get a "costume key" to unlock a suit. To get a costume key, you need to get at least a silver medal on every challenge in a chapter. This isn't too bad, because you can actually play all of the challenges from the main menu, but it still takes a few tries to complete each one, and there are a ton of unlockable costumes. The keys are interchangeable -- you can unlock any suit with one, except for the two locked-out suits that you get for beating the game and beating it on hard.

The unlock codes save a lot of work, and it gives you a little leeway to unlock all the costumes without having to get at least a silver medal on every single challenge in the game (which you would need to do to unlock them all). I guess if you really wanted a specific suit, you could just unlock it with your first key, but otherwise it would be much more difficult to, say, get all of the Identity Crisis ones.

Meh.. probably not gonna get this one. Shattered Dimensions had an actually fun Ultimate Deadpool, a meh Hobgoblin 2099, but the greatest Mysterio EVER (of course it helps when Mysterio is voiced by David Kaye. YEEEEEESSSSSSSS.)

The Havok costume is pre-order only. I've got all the costumes and Havok's is not among them. Presumably, it comes with a set of X-Genes for Havok as well?

But no, the rest are all random. You could get Colossus' costume in the exact same place you previously got Quicksilver's costume. Same with the X-Genes, obviously. But once you start racking up about half of each, the chance you'll get an XP-Mutator seems to increase. I'm missing only one item, and no matter how many times I've replayed the challenges or even the various missions, that last item just isn't spawning.

My friend was telling me that. I still need to check my hard drive.

According to the guide, the Havok costume is not pre-order only. That and the Psylocke costumes are very rare but obtainable.

But yes it comes with the X-Genes for Havok. Only I've found that other X-genes are better. Iceman's Offensive is excellent because it freezes so many in place. Wolverine's Defensive keeps up my health bar.
