During the Amazing Spider-Man panel at New York Comic-Con 2011, a new Scarlet Spider was announced.

Since the liveblogs at Marvel.com were not working (wifi issues their Twitter said), I ended up listening to the video content they had streaming from their site. During a (I think) live segment, they mentioned that the only new announcement from the Amazing Spdier-Man panel was that there would be a new Scarlet Spider series starting in January 2012.

Checking the Marvel site resulted in nothing (yet), but doing a web search, I was able to confirm this,

The series will be helmed by writer Chris Yost and artist Ryan Stegman.

Marvel announced a Scarlet Spider ongoing series at the New York Comic Con Amazing Spider-Man panel today!

Chris Yost and artist Ryan Stegman will be the creative team on a new Scarlet Spider book coming in January from Marvel. The Scarlet Spider, who is at this time unidentified, is billed by Marvel editor Steve Whacker as being a combination of the extreme aspects of Spider-Man and Venom. Sorry style fanboys, no hoodie.

It's pretty bland, actually.. I like the color scheme, but the lack of webs on the red or anything just makes it seem kind of boring.

Love the looks of the costume, and Yost is an awesome writer so I will definitely be checking this out!
