FUCK--I've been slacking. I didn't watch any preseason, and I don't even know if the Flyers played their first 2011 regulation game yet. All I know is that the Flyers supposedly looked good in preseason, and that Jagr and Giroux are a winning combination.

I hope I get to go to some caps game this year
even though honestly it sorta sucks. Caps games are mostly filled with "corporate fans" that have no clue about the game or the league

I guess that's better than in the 70s and early 80s when it was all Philly fans coming down there because the Caps sucked and had no fans, right? That's what my Mom and Dad told me, anyway. My Dad used to work in Washington, and they'd always go to Caps games when the Flyers were playing.

The Isles had a big win against Tampa Bay (aka Islanders South) last night. Hockey Jesus, I mean John Tavares, had himself two goals (the first of which was batted into his own damn net by Victor Hedman...I'm really happy about the way the 2009 draft went).
I went to the game against Minnesota on Monday. They won a game they probably deserved to lose.
All I'm really looking for this season is that the team can keep itself healthy. They can't have 600 man games lost due to injury again. If that happens, they could compete for that last playoff spot in March. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The witness said Mr Brown then called out to Ms Hay's adult daughter: "Look at this, I'm tittie-f***ing your mother!".

I mean I dunno I wasn't there. But when I started going to games in I guess the 90's to the 2000's it was a much better atmosphere more energy better fans

NHL Centre Ice's free preview has allowed me to closely follow the Oilers for their first five games. Overall the team appears slightly better than last year.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has played very well. His commitment to strong defensive zone play is even more impressive than his 4 goals. The Hall-Nugent-Hopkins-Hemsky line looked fantastic while it was together. It was awesome to see Ryan Smyth back in an Oilers jersey. You can tell he is excited to be back with the team although his over-exuberance has led to a few dumb penalties. The defensemen and goaltenders have played better than expected.
Jordan Eberle and Magnus Paajarvi are the two biggest disappointments at this point. Scoring chances keep dying on Eberle's stick while Paajarvi has been near-invisible most of the time.

Flyers looking good after a thorough trouncing of Ottowa.
The nice thing so far is that this is basically a completely revamped team, but they are playing as if they've been together for a while. Hope that continues.

Is Matt Read for real? Tyler Bozak and Bobby Butler received so much (unwarranted?) hype in my neck of the woods that I was soured on the idea of any college hockey player having a major impact in his rookie season.
