Bunch of my orders, I had three for this month had their shipping refunded, so I guess that is how they merge it all together? :smt102

I had a nice talk with the new owner of MOC and we went through the issues I had and he explained a lot about the reasons for the new site and what happened as well as the future enhancements. It was a nice talk and while I am cautiously optimistic about next month I'm still in wait and see mode.

My FINAL Cart of Comics:

STAR WARS LONG TIME AGO OMNIBUS TP VOL 05 (C: 1-1-2)
GI JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO TP VOL 03
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS HC VOL 02 FIRST ENCOUNTERS
WALKING DEAD TP VOL 15 (MR)
AVENGERS WEST COAST LOST SPACE TIME PREM HC DM VAR ED 86

The end is here for me too, I'm afraid. After this month, my comics budget is limited strictly to Marvel Omnibus editions. I'm gonna try to sneak in the remaining 2-3 IDW reprints of the 80's GI Joe run too but that's about it. I didn't come to this decision easily, but I should have made it long ago. I can't stick to my budget and I can't really afford to exceed my budget. Hopefully I'll be back someday. Meanwhile, the books I want will pile up unbought rather than bought but unread. :smt102

I will miss Walking Dead, finishing 20th Century Boys, enjoying more Tezuka classics, rereading Strikeforce Morituiri (solicited next month) and reading a whole ton of other excellent new and reprint materials. I was even enjoying the DC relaunch. Oh well! I have enough comics that I may never read them so I can't feel too bad.

This is not goodbye as it will be months before I get my last BOC, and I will still get BOCs with new Omnibus editions.

Midas, your taste in comics always made me look at different books and got me into books like Black Jack, I'm glad you'll be sticking around. You're good people :D

That's a bummer Midas. If I were smart I'd do the same... and not just because of the cost of the books, but storage! I spent a small fortune on Monday just for shelving to get me through another year or two.

That's part of my reasoning. Well, it's more to do with the fact that I buy these comics and never get around to reading them. Also, I have a closet full of short boxes that are full of comics I've never read. My wife pointed out she could probably throw a couple of those boxes out and I would never know they were missing. She might be right. It's time to stop accumulating more and work through what I got. And I'm still going to buy new Omnibuses so I'll still be buying more comics than I can read!

It's been really fun interacting with you guys and I look forward to continuing to do so. Maybe I'll need to move over to the graphic novels thread as I start making my way through my backlog... But I won't leave here either.

I could stop reading everything else and just read my backlog of Marvel Omnibuses and probably still not be done 6 months from now and that's before X-Statix and Byrne FF ship next month.

Right now I'm in a run of reading 10 comics a day. Eventually I'll be caught up in a few months.

UGH! What a nightmare dealing with MOC!

After pulling my hair out trying to add and delete stuff, I just said "fuck it!" and ordered everything through DCBS.

It's just easier.

MOC better get this fixed ASAP or they're done.

This is one of the reasons why I cut back significantly.

1. Time
2. Space

Funny how money's not the issue.. :D

Yeah, they said the pull list will be better next month. Though key is that we need to go through the pull first before the mass add to cart to load the content. (Still not the cleanest process.) A lot of my conversation that I had yesterday with MOC was the changes were driven because of what happens on the back-end in the old system which resulted in a lot of money lose.

They did get hit by a lot of customers taking the time off and going elsewhere for a month or two like you are GOSD.

In short they did not expect the roll-out of the new site to be as problematic as it has been. Also in talking to them, I do not think they even had the means to do any data load tests to check for issues before release.

Wow! As a developer, that's insane. Insane.

In the end, it cost them money and customers.

Things you need (esp. in today's world) to be a successful business.

MOC is a six people staff for both the online and brick and mortar business. Only one developer and I think it is the brother of the owner. My take is that they did not have an environment to do a full on data test.

Not saying that is an excuse but they could have worked something out. Take the site down for 24 hours restrict access to test things out.

But sounds like they did take a hit and my guess why the 5% code was added.

I'm definitely regretting placing my order last weekend. If I could edit my cart I'd probably clear most of it out and move to DCBS.

I'm not sure that MOC is still going to be around a few months from now.
