Compare to the last relaunch:
39 - THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES
05/2005: LoSH #6 -- 40,970
05/2006: Supergirl & LoSH #18 -- 45,520
05/2007: Supergirl & LoSH #30 -- 30,767
05/2008: LoSH #42 -- 27,940
---------------------------------------
05/2010: LoSH #1 -- 44,415 (+98.9%)
-----------------
2 years : + 59.0%
5 years : + 8.4%

Veteran comics writer and former DC head Paul Levitz and newcomer artist Yildiray Cinar turn in the fifth or sixth Legion of Super-Heroes relaunch of the last ten years, helped in relatively restrained fashion by a 1:10 variant.

For the sake of comparison, Mark Waid and Barry Kitson’s debut issue sold an estimated 50,691 copies back in December 2004, and Jim Shooter and Francis Manapul’s Legion #37 shifted an estimated 45,803 units three years later.

It doesn’t look like retailers expect a great change of temperature in the market, when it comes to this title.

http://www.comicsbeat.com/2010/07/16/dc-month-to-month-sales-may-2010/

8/2011 LSH #1 45,362
8/2011 LL #41726

5/2010 LSH #1 44,415

Threeboot #1 50,691

Threeboot #37 45,803

So the Threeboot's notable milestone still beat out the Neo-Classic/DCnU relaunch.

The second relaunch #1 was 30/51 of the new #1 DC books that came out in Sept (Not counting Justice League) Middle of the pack. Though compared to the relaunches of DC "traditional" titles, it's at or near rock bottom.

It's a good thing writing Legion is part of Paul Levitz's golden parachute deal, because it'd probably be on the chopping block soon.

Sadly, over half the DCnU books sell better than the Legion Books

Heck, if you counted the Supes, Bats, and GL books as one comic (each), there would still be about 15 books selling better than Legion.

And some comic's sales suck worse than other comic's sales.

The point is, of course, that the neo-classic Legion nostalgia trip is a sales flop, which will continue to go downhill once the Nu52 #1 sales bounce stops in a few months.

Which is sad because Legion is pretty good. If it gets canned I just hope Blackhawks goes first. Two issues in and I have no idea whats going on other then they anally raped Lady Blackhawk.

The second ish of Legion Lost was better than the first, imho. Stuff made a lot more sense. Second ish of Legion, on the other hand, was kind of dull. I'm not really caring much about this border outpost story.

What do you expect? Legion is a no name comic property. Of course it's not going to sell well. Everyone predicted this.

Legion fandom claimed that bringing back the "original" team would launch the book back up the sales charts. So I guess a lot of people expected a lot more.

I would not call the ten remaining members of "Legion fandom" a "lot of people"

The fact that DC apparently has given up on trying to increase the number of Legion fans is sadly telling.
