A sequel to rat catcher?
No. It's just in a similar setting: border town with a western tinge of storytelling.

Story
Aaron has been writing the best Wolverine in years and his excellent work continues here in this debut issue. I love how Aaron has nailed the voice of all the characters here. The opening scene with Xavier was great. Especially the exchange about expecting the school to get destroyed regularly and no baseball. I also like how the Danger Room can be activated anywhere on the school premises. I was really happy to see the broodling from Astonishing X-Men show up here as a student. I think the character has great potential, especially with Aaron writing him. This issue did a great job introducing the characters by using the state inspection as a way to explain the whos and whats of the Jean Grey School. I enjoyed this so much I've read through it three times already.
Art
And now for the negative. I'm not a fan of Bachalo's art and he does nothing here to change my opinion of his art. I really wish there was another artist on the book. Bachalo's art didn't distract me from Aaron's great writing but it did nothing to enhance it either. It's a shame my score for the art is going to drag down my overall score for this.

Quick review.
A nice change in tone from X-Men: Schism. Jason Aaron is introduces readers new and old to the new school and those inside it. Chris Bachalo is an artistic beast. I've been a fan of his for years and his style matches Aaron's script nicely. Do I know where this is going? Well, the teaser gave a good hint but I'm not entirely sure. Still, I'm just going to enjoy the ride. Glad that I picked this up.
8* out of 10*

Wolverine and The X-Men #1
What a refreshing change of pace for an X-Book. I love the idea that Logan has taken the place of "Chuck" and that Kitty has such an important role as well. The light hearted attitude of this book is exactly what the X-Titles need right now and I for one hope that it continues for a while.
The art sucked. I mean really sucked for me. I don't like this style at all and it is the one major problem with this book. Draws me right out of a great story. I hope this artist doesn't stay on too long for the books sake.

And I don't understand Bachalo-lovers so I guess we are at a cross-roads. I think I want my sweater back. We are breaking up.

For once, we agree.
Especially when I see so many of the haters like a guy like Humberto Ramos, whose art is fucking god awful.

This is not a good thing.
How does Bradshaw have a job in mainstream comics?
