They have the best dynamic of any pair on the show, but I'd say when they function apart, Abed. Troy has a tendency to get on my nerves with all the crying and whining. The both of them really work well individually with the others too, but I think Troy really lets the other character work well. I find Abed dominates character relationships, especially with weaker characters like Shirley or Britta.

Abed. I didn't like him much at first; he seemed almost a Mary Sue in the way he always recognized all the meta-textual stuff that was happening on the show while the rest of the cast seemed clueless but the actor that plays him is so good he won me over.

Yeah Danny Pudi is awesome.

It's weird to see him laugh in the outtakes though.

I know. That's why I made the observation. There is no inherent difference in the ops, yet the conversation starts from a different place.

Troy.

Don Glover is just the more versatile performer, Abed has the same schtick and sticks to it, but Troy is more adaptable to other stories, like last night's hilarious Air-Conditioner repair stuff.

I really like Donald Glover and Troy is a great character but Abed wins this for me. Danny Pudi's delivery and timing are spectacular and I have more laugh out loud moments from Abed.
