And I prefer Pierce. I know we're supposed to find Chang unbearable, but he actually almost makes the show unwatchable for me...

Chevy Chase's career has been completely revitalized.

I've heard that he did some cameo on a Swedish sitcom a few years ago. Are you aware if there's any truth to that?

It wasn't a cameo! He actually co-starred in a whole season of it. The show was about a psychiatrist, and Chase played a washed-up American actor who who became their patient...

Chang requires a great deal of focus for his character's antics. This season, he seems to lack that. So far, anyway. When he's just doing crazy random shit for crazy random reasons that aren't really reasons, that's not so good. But he is good as the show's Wild Card (bitches!). When you feel the need to do a crazy, random joke that simply doesn't fit for any other character, Chang is always a good go-to for that. Like the D&D episode, where he just randomly shows up as a Drow Elf.

Pierce is just almost always on point though. Especially last season. Presumably because he's Chevy Chase.

Both Pierce and Chang are awesome. But Pierce has been Pierce all along. This season, Chang has just not been as funny as he was before.

True story about chase: a friend of mine worked at one of the first video rental stores in London back in the early eighties. It was in a fairly central location so they used to get quite a few American stars come and join so they could rent movies while they were filming in London.

Anyway, one day Chase came in and spent the whole time joking around and cracking wise (on his membership form, for instance, he listed his occupation as 'cleaning lady.') My friend is a huge Steely Dan fan and he was listening to Aja: Chase said, "Hmmm... Steely Dan. I was in that band, but then they sold out so I left," then changed the subject. My friend laughed, but thought nothing of it.

A few years later he was reading some biography of the band and it turned out that Chevy Chase had, in fact, been the band's drummer in the early days before leaving to concentrate on his comedy...

Pierce is streets ahead of Chang.

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons is probably my favorite episode of this show and featured Chase at his finest imo.

Pierce is is more consistently funny and prettier, but Chang can be funnier in bursts, is hotter and probably wilder in the sack.
