yea, most (IMO) collectors aren't gonna have half their books be digital and half be floppies, and not everyone has a tablet. Do even most people?

and, the good books, Action Comics, Batman, Swamp Thing, ect #1s are out.

Honestly, they don't seem worth it.

I don't understand what you mean by cancelled trades?

what I do know is that I can't afford a new filing cabinet so I switched to WFT with the NuDC and in a year I probably won't care anymore.

You can read them on your computer. Just like you would with the thing you stole.

The #1s for the good books are in 3rd/4th printings. Everything else has a second printing. A good LCS should have them in stock. They're also available from online retailers at regular prices.

and either way, its not like a lot of the WFT people are even going to know that its going to be ~a year until some of this stories come out in HC and over a year for TPB, so by the time they look for the books that aren't there 1s - 4s(ish) are over cover price back issues.

Look, I get that DC is catering to the floppies reader, but it would have been nice if they told people that 5 months ago.

I guess I don't see the difference between waiting 6 months and waiting a year for something in the format you chose to wait for. I may be weird though, I'm a couple year's behind on most of my trades.

and, for the most part, I am new to WFT and I was hoping that DC's trade policy would improve with the NuDC. I have the 1s of the two books I was really looking forward to (Batman and JLD) so I guess it'll be no big deal to find 2 on up until I catch up to DCBS. The rest of my Swamp Thing books are already in trade, so I'm going to stik with that format. What this is probably going to do to me is I'll either forget about or just stop caring about the books I was thinking of looking into once they hit the TPB format. I'll either steal them online or move on to other books, or :shock:

save money by not buying so many damn comcis

It's really not that bad. It's just a month behind what marvel does (for the first month at least. The staggering was inevitable. there's absolutely no way they could ever drop that much product all in one month0.
They're going to go HC on those big books because they can probably get that price from the bookstore crowd on Johns, Lee, Morrison, etc. That part's no different than Marvel's premiere HC stuff.

What I mean is DC announced recently that some of the trades collecting the end of the pre Flashpoint DCU like Supergirl, JSA All Stars and Rebels were cancelled due to low orders. As well as other trades like the 2nd Volume of Suicide Squad and the Night Force HC.

And some of the fanboys were complaining because since they had bought all the other trades, DC should have finished them regardless and how they seem to not care for the fan base who are trade waiting.

My response to that has been with the fact that the sales on the books as singles were low enough that they were getting cancelled, did they really think that there were going to be enough people out there waiting to buy the work in trade format to justify the costs of printing them?

Which there never is. What good is waiting for the trade if there aren't enough people already to support the books in monthly format? Cause if you can't even get them to stay there, you're certainly not going to get them to justify a trade printing.
