I’m a huge fan of the Dark Avengers, so I loved this issue, and got a huge kick out of seeing who would be on the new team. I had guessed a couple of them, like Skaar and Superia, but the likes of Barney Barton, June Covington and Ai Apaec were a surprise. It’s great that Bendis is digging out these characters who are from recent but fairly minor mini-series and putting them front-and-centre into one of the biggest books in the industry, hopefully people will go back and pick up the trades of ‘Osborn’ and ‘Hawkeye: Blindspot’ to see these characters in action. I also loved how Bendis is going back to the point of view that the Avengers aren’t always right, and that maybe Osborn, crazy as he is, had a point. I’m sure some readers will be annoyed that the New Avengers didn’t actually appear in this issue, but the gradual build-up works for me, and as this story is spread across both Avengers and New Avengers, it deserves the space.

I thought this was a fun issue... a few characters I wasn't familiar with considering I didn't read the Osborn mini... is June Covington dressed as Wanda? How does she translate to being her? and is Gorgon dressed as Wolverine? I like the idea of the Dark Avengers but I hope it isn't a rehash of the earlier Dark Avengers book.

I don't think that it can be. The original Dark Avengers and H.A.M.M.E.R were government funded agencies that the public believed were heroes due to the support of Norman Osborn who they perceived struck the final blow to the Skrulls during Secret Invasion. Not only do the people of the Marvel Universe now know the truth about Norman, the Dark Avengers and H.A.M.M.E.R are affiliated with terrorist organizations like A.I.M and Hydra. There won't be the same dynamic of the real heroes fighting the Dark Avengers without the support of the public or the government. I expect it to be like fighting a new incarnation of the Masters of Evil.

I hope that Bendis has some plan for why the Dark Avengers need to be dressed as the real Avengers. It made sense the first time around, for PR purposes, but there should be a logical reason this time too.

I remember enjoying Dark Avengers, so, despite being pretty burned out on Avenger titles, I picked this up. I'm ... hesitantly interested.

Normally I really like Deadato's art, but for some reason I was not really feeling it this time around. Not sure why.

I'm sure he does. I'm interested to see what it is.

All I'm waiting is for the Dark X-Men to come back! Hopefully Bishop will join the team!

I can get behind this. Bishop needs to come back, hard.

The more I think about this the more I think Bendis is taking the wrong approach with this story.

It would've been better if it was a reveal that occurred farther along in the story line.

Right now I feel like I'm reading a comic that I read two years ago.

I'd have liked to see Carnage become the new Dark Spider-Man rather than have him be living out a 90's anniversary event.

Thing about Dark X-Men is nothing really happened to have them go MIA. Dark Avengers fell apart but Mystiques team didn't. They should still be around. But Bendis/Osborn are so stuck on the DA that the DXM have been forgotten about...
