Homeland on Showtime

Postby avengingtitan » Mon Oct 03, 2011 11:49 pm

So who watched this sunday night?

Damn it was AWESOME!!! First of all the idea of an American Hero actually being turned is uncomfortable but an amazing idea. Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, Damian Lewis, and Morena Baccarin are fantastic in this.

The little bit at the end with Carrie actually being potentially pyschotic was a nice touch. That bit where they show what happened to his scout sniper partner was uncomfortable and brutal.

Oh and a great nude scene from Morena Baccarin.

Yeah, saw an advance screener a few weeks back and I couldn't recommend this show enough.

Great cast, great concept ... my only complaint is having to wait a week to watch another episode. :D

Amazing show. Best of the fall season, and one of the best all-around shows in years.

Got renewed for a second season today.

I think this is probably the best show on TV right now.

Love watching it back to back with Dexter.

Yep yep. Although after watching both of them I need a sitcom to laugh at.

fantastic show with an awesome concept. it's the only tv show i watch on a regular basis these days.

i had a huge crush on claire danes when i was a teenager, and she's still gorgeous today.

Interesting. The preview I saw made it look like an interesting premise for a movie (Manchurian Candidate), but made me wonder if it could be sustained in a series.

I'll have to check this out when it is released on DVD.

Well, the premise is just the first season.. it may grow beyond it.

I don't know if they can keep drawing out the whole "is he turned or not?" thing throughout several seasons.

And since they didn't know ahead of time if there would be a second season, I'm thinking that we'll probably find out one way or another by the end of this season.

So further seasons could just deal with new threats or he somehow sneaks off and becomes a full on threat..

So far, though, it's working pretty well. I feel like I go back and forth on it several times an episode..

Holy shit.

That ending.. :smt103 :smt101

I think I know what's going on, but you never really know. So this could be disproven within the first minute of the next episode..

[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
But, I think Brody was turned too. To an extent. Maybe not TURNED.. just given freedoms and brainwashed to the extent that he "loved" Nazir, as he said last week. Clearly Brody didn't know Walker was alive, and really thought he killed him. This was a part of his brainwashing. Nazir likely has them working different goals, with Walker assassinating the President.. and Brody as a sleeper agent in political office. That brings that theory Carrie had earlier in the season back into play, that maybe Brody's whole goal has been to get into politics, so they could have a puppet to install if/when Walker gets his job done.

it's interesting though, that Brody said he's done.. we know he doesn't appreciate being lied to, as evidenced by his thing with Carrie.. this would be a far greater lie, and maybe enough to get him to have second thoughts. especially now that his life has seemingly started to find some order..
