Regardless, it's above the price rule or I would have picked it.

And Deadpool #1000 was like 100 pages of all new story content, and it almost put me off comics forever it was so bad and pointless. Just a shitload of amateur 6 page filler stories. Suck it, Punchy.

What price rule? Did you see a price rule in the OP?

New group, new rules.

I've always enjoyed these, "What will the next Avengers line-up be?" issues and this one was no exception. I think this issue worked so well because the very concept needs a great deal of dialogue to pull off. As such it plays into one of Bendis' big strengths as a writer.

As for the events within the issue, I loved seeing the return of the original Vision and I think Storm will make for an interesting Avenger. The only huge problem I had was the fact that the ending seemed to be so sudden. I counted the page content and reached the total of 20 pages of reading material, not that far from what is expected, so that feeling doesn't come about from a lack of pages.

I'll give it a 7 out of 10.

I'm not doing this for Punchy, who is clearly an out of control nazi (not that there's anything wrong with that), but I'll change my pick to Fantastic Four #600.

Terrible issue.

I used to love the Avengers when they'd pick a new team, but this was awful.

How convenient that Stark was spending his spare time working on the Vision when in his own book he's fucking broke.

The dialogue sucked.

"Liaison to what?"
"Y'know, stuff."

Black Panther gets 4 pages to reject the team and Storm gets 2 pages to be ignored cause Vision comes back.

It was just awful and I really think it's time for Bendis to move on.

The less said about Acuna's art, the better.

Gonna be wordy, but it's what happens when I get on a tirade.

Since I was a little boy, I’ve always been a fan of the Avengers. Ever since I was playing Captain America and the Avengers on the Sega Genesis, I have enjoyed reading the exploits of Hawkeye, Vision, Iron Man and of course Captain America. But this… this is just bad.

Let’s start with the cover… could it be any more generic? The team running into unknown battle with artwork that feels quite amateur. And just look at Iron Man and Ms. Marvel; they look like window decals instead of super heroes. I just would have expected more care and effort for Marvel’s most powerful superhero team.

The artwork, although a far cry better than the Leifeld of yesteryear, almost tried too hard to feel nostalgic, when instead it just seems cheap and lazy. Even the voice bubbles; Vision’s is completely different, but everyone else’s is the same, common white. And since every dialogue, regardless of how trite, fires back and forth making it almost impossible about the order of speech and who is talking to whom.

The use of characters just seems… odd. I personally am all for downplaying the Wolverine since I feel as though Marvel has been, let’s say over-exaggerating how awesome he is for the last few years or so. But to have a splash page of Storm as an intro than have her almost neglected after Vision’s re-emergence is nearly insulting to women, or any fans of Storm in general. They spend time boosting black Panther, even giving him near top billing on the cover, only to have him reject in a teaser now to probably have him join later. And does anyone really care about Red Hulk? I appreciate the nostalgia attempt, but come on.

This is what I get for having hopes, I suppose. 5.5 out of 10

I would have reviewed the Infinite, but I'll have to pass on the $8 backup wank fest.
