Nightfly's Music Video Week in Review 11/27/11 - Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and more!

Postby LOLtron » Mon Dec 05, 2011 5:37 pm

Nightfly lists his preferred picks among last week's newly released music videos.

Chasing The Matrix:
Nightfly's Music Video Week in Review (week of 11/27/11)

Plenty of music videos debuted last week resulting in a larger column than usual. Tied victories resurface in both my Runner Up and main Favorite Videos categories, and unlike last week's WiR this one features a few make-up catches. Further unlike last week, instead of links to multiple Lady Gaga performances this time I offer links to three Lady Gaga interview clips about her brand new short film. Out of competition (bonus) videos are in no short supply and my Holiday section features Justin Bieber for a second consecutive installment.
VEVO News released an exclusive Lady Gaga interview in three parts (mentioned above). Click the following links to view Parts 1, 2 & 3 - all three of which were released last Saturday (December 3rd).

Friday (12/2) Britney Spears released "Gimme More" excerpted from her latest DVD, Britney Spears Live: The Femme Fatale Tour. Check it out.

Also newly released last week was the filmtastic video of Camilla and the Chickens covering "Forget You" from Disney's The Muppets movie!

GetGlue members can unlock a new sticker for Live at Roseland: Elements of 4 by checking-in to Beyoncé's artist page there, and, on a somewhat related note enjoy this preview of tomorrow's new Glee episode featuring the Troubletones' mashup of the Destiny's Child hit, "Survivor" with Gloria Gaynor's anthemic disco classic, "I Will Survive."

It begins (in alphabetical order, except for the winners)....

New Holiday Video Release(s):
"All I Want For Christmas Is You" (Superfestive!) by Justin Bieber (ft. Mariah Carey)

"The Cowboy's Christmas Ball" by The Killers
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus Videos:
In my last column I linked to the free twenty-one minute live concert video titled, Live From the Troubadour 10/19/11 by Kelly Clarkson via VEVO. Last monday (11/28) a special excerpt from the concert was posted featuring the fan chosen selection of, "Sober."

Also this past week (11/29) Tori Amos fans were treated to the exclusive world premiere of her short film "Star Whisperer" presented free by the Sundance Channel.

The day after their VH1 Storytellers DVD hit shelves the Dixie Chicks released this tender track - which I expect to be the last one excerpted from that performance, "Lullaby".

Well, if you're like me that was probably a little more music than you expected but in no way more than you can handle. Thanks very much for once again checking out my music video column, and, of course if you know of anything I might've missed just let me know in the comments section. I hope to see you back here next time, Have a Great Week & Keep Your Groove On!

formatting fixed / suggestions needed

Postby Nightfly » Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:49 am

Hey all, I finally fixed the formatting error - sorry I didn't get to it sooner but I've been seriously swamped this week.

So,.. I've been doing this music video column for a few weeks and it hasn't really drawn much interest (i.e., no comments, unanswered trivia questions, etc). Is there something I can do to make these music video WiRs more interesting or useful to you guys? Should I embed fewer vids to make it easier to load?
Let me know if you have any suggestions, thanks. :-)

You could use YouTube vids , instead of Vevo. The videos would likely load faster.
