Diamond's November sales capped off an eleven month climb that erased this year's early deficit.
For the first time this year, Diamond Comics reported increases in year to date sales figures in their November Sales Report. While past reports showed monthly gains when compared to last year, the year to date figures had previously remained less than 2010's due to a 25% loss in sales in January. However, due to strong sales in the last three months, Diamond is now reporting that they are on pace to experience a modest 1.87% increase in sales this year.
Overall,
Justice League #3 was the top book of the month, followed by the third issues of
Batman,
Action Comics and
Green Lantern.
Point One was the top Marvel book, which also had
Uncanny X-Men,
Avenging Spider-Man and
Wolverine and the X-Men finish in the ten top-selling books in the month. Detective Comics and The Flash also placed in the top ten.
DC won the month with 34.69% of last month's sales (in terms of dollars), with Marvel close behind with 33.3% of last month's sales (in dollars). Based on the limited data available, it seems that DC's sizable lead over Marvel is all but gone, in part due to a lack of extra printings of second and third issues of DC's New 52.
