After those four songs this album fell off hard. I was hoping it would be on par with Things Fall Apart and The Tipping Point, but it was more like Phrenology. Too much RnB shit going on.

Has anyone listened to the Childish Gambino album?

I like Troy but not a fan of the one video I saw.

Listening to Common's new joint. The Dreamer / The Believer. Can I say that for the first time in my life I'm hating NoID's beats? They sound so disorganized. Some of the shit Com's rapping about is dumb too.

edit: I don't know how I feel about this album :?

I always liked The Legendary Traxster a lot better than NoID.

Listening to Jeezy's Thug Motivation 103. Can't believe Talk 2 Me got cut from the album, that was track of the album material. He's got some great beats there.

He even uncovered Warren G from whatever rock he was under

He's decent. I have yet to see him do a great role. He's no Will Smith.

The second listen went better, but I fell asleep before finishing the album. I actually warmed up to NoID's beats a bit more. Some tracks are dumb as shit (Sweet, Celebrate) but other tracks are bangers (Ghetto Dreams) and there are some really solid hip hop tracks (The Dreamer, Raw). The song Blue Sky is something else though. I know Com's been experimenting here and there on tracks since Like Water for Chocolate, but this is the neatest Common track in a while. Sometimes I'm not loving the lyrics though, and I often find myself saying "aww, c'mon, that was so easy."

This is the first Common album produced entirely by NoID since One Day It'll All Make Sense and it's a complete departure from that. It has a really commercial sound. It's not horrible at all though.

7/10

I got this a couple of weeks ago. It has a couple of weak points, but overall I really like it.
