It's been so long. I recall them saying that something needed to be done as a result of her actions during disassembled, which makes sense. At that point people were dead because of her.

But this seems different. Who is dead because of hope's actions. Or is it because she might become the phoenix and they are afraid of what might happen if she does? If that is a legitimate concern (even though the MU at large has never seemed to care about the phoenix force), then why wouldn't they try and work out an agreement with everyone involved?

Again the story hasn't happened yet, but it sounds like Cap and iron man show up at utopia demaning hope so they can imprison her and keep the phoenix force away from her. I don't see how that is in character for Cap at all, and I would hope even Stark would feel wrong about imprisoning an innocent child.

Again we don't know though, just based on the blurb it sounds bad.

i have a hard time that a guy that has been alive since before WW2 would never change his views on certain things, or adjust his morals in any way.

Nevermind that Cap stood up against this kind of thing in Civil war, and has been unapologetic about his stance since he's come back.

It just doesn't fit.

But like I've said, the story isn't told yet, maybe they will make it work. I'm just afraid will get another Civil war scenario, where half the "heroes" are acting like villains because the story wills it.

We don't know what the Avengers want to do with her.

All the synopsis says is that they want the X-Men to "hand her over" to them.

Again, there's nothing about that specifically that stands out as being out of character. Not until we know more.

Jeph Loeb sucks.

Cable beating Cap makes no sense.

And whoever thinks that Cyclops could beat Cap is dumb considering Storm beat Cyclops when he was using powers and she wasn't.

Cable going toe to toe with Cap is possible, especially when you can tell Cap is holding back.

Now Cable going toe to toe with the rest of the Avengers? Silly.

As for why they fight, who knows the ramifications Cable's actions have. Maybe because of this attack, Cap and Co. go into defense mode and go after Hope.

Well I've tried to emphasize that I was judging it based soley on the preview blurb.

If it ends up making sense and being good I'll be happy, and I'll even say I was wrong to judge it prematurely.

Stuff like Civil war and Fear itself, which forces characters to act a certain way for the story rather than how history suggests they should act just make me nervous about it.

Bendis is pretty decent with characterization for most characters, and aaron and brubaker are great, it has a lot going for it. But Fraction makes me leery.
