Or people dying from broken hearts with no thought of their incestuous children.

That is how it is in the book.

In the movie, it is not filmed that way. Long camera shots of them starting at each other, holding hands, and what not. Very awkard causing giggles in the audience.

The credit for the good things in the movie is mostly Tolkiens.

Though Jackson shot a credible movie in terms of effects (90% of the time) and took it seriously, he made narrative and character changes that help mess up what Tolkien achieved.

the best movie of the three is the first one.

the second one is a bit of a mess and the third one is just messed up with the 45 minute endings.

Extreme stress late in pregnancy can cause serious complications to the mother and childre's health though it was i think mostly 'poetry' and not something literal. it probably read better on paper. It wasnt executed particularly well but then, neither was Legolas riding the "elephant" creature ;)

Besides, Frodo's death is pretty similar.

I really have to say that I find it odd you can pick out things like this in LotR, but then defend the Prequels the way you do. It's just odd.

Like saying the shots chosen implies homosexuality.

Take this critical analysis and apply it to the love story filmed between Padme and Ani.

it does. That was always one, misguided imo, criticial analysis of the Lord of the Rings books by some scholars-that Frodo and Sam were essentially lovers, mentally if not physically.

While I think it's more what Greg said, the movie chose a different path to wink and nod and highlight that interepretation.

I will now apply it to Anakin and Padme as Jon suggests

Hmm. Male, female. No, they didn’t’ portray Anakin and Padme as gay.

You do know TBS advertised the movies once with loving shots of Sam and Frodo looking at each other and a love song in the background, right?

For real.

The Internet is abuzz with talk about the video, which shows short clips of the two interacting over the playing of Atlantic Starr's '80s song "Secret Lovers."

"Are Sam and Frodo a little more than friends? Not that there's anything wrong with that," states the TBS webpage leading to several video promotions of the "Rings" features.

The clip has the two hobbits casting pleasant glances at one another in various scenes, including one in which Frodo declares to Sam, "I'm glad you're with me."

Any time two guys are seen as really close friends nowadays in art, they're considered gay.

CountD: Greg, thank you for your insights.
Benderbrau: Greg: Unwrapping the riddles of the black man since 2006

Starlord: I swear if you were gay and I wasn't married we'd make the perfect fuck buddies.

Greg: I'd do many things. Coke is not one of them.
Benderbrau: Greg hates all things white.

Benderbrau: Emma, you could learn a thing or two from Greg. Greg does threesomes. That's bi done right.

Yes, that is true and I hate that

But Peter Jackson chose to shoot it that way.

So he either misrepresented the book on purpose or he didn’t know what he was doing.

Either way, it’s not a positive.

YMMV

No, shot selection. How basically almost any piece of important info in the Prequels is shot while sitting on a couch or getting up from one.

Never seen you bring up anything like this in your defense of the prequels.

Did Jackson make a mistake in the filming of Sam and Frodo? Possibly. I don't know what he was going for so I can't say. I can understand the crits levied against it. But his positives far outweigh his negatives.

The way that Episodes 1,2 and 3 were shot is some of the most uninspired filmmaking I've ever seen.
