yeah, he REALLY seemed to be trying too hard with the dialogue in this issue, IMMO

I don't mind some of them being chatty Cathy's, but would the issue really have suffered had they passed on the verbal wit of Electro as he kneed the Thinker (or was it Red Ghost?) in the nuts. I was actually chuckling as I read it.

I really loved the interaction between Sandman and Wizard, cept for how it ended.

I'll write my proper review at lunch.

I liked the story. I loved the interaction between Sandman and Wizard, the acknowledgement of their days together in the Frightful Four. And I enjoyed the ugly arrogance of Doc Ock. The strength of the issue is seeing all these great Marvel villains work and fight together. I think if I had picked up this issue as a kid, I would have considered it an instant classic. Just as it's fun to see two unlikely heroes team up in an issue, it's always thrilling to see a collection of evertone's favorite supervillains. One question: Why isn't Leader in the Intelligentsia? Is he dead? I haven't been reading enough Marvel lately to know such things.

But as much as I love the story, I absolutely hate the art. It isn't the cartoony, often silly depictions of the villains that bothers me. Rather, it's the cluttered, hard-to-follow action sequences that I dislike. Ramos isn't a strong enough storyteller to draw coherent, compelling battles with so many characters in them. Of course, few artists are. I think Marvel should have figured out a way to resurrect John Buscema and have him illustrate this book. Then it would have been a thing of perfection. As it is, the art could not depict the epicness of the battle. Too bad, because this could have been a truly special issue.

STORY: 7.5
ART: 3
OVERALL: 5.25

He got turned into a human after the events of that Hulk crossover. So let me get this straight though did Slott make all the build-up Hickman had for the Wizard in FF just rendered mute?

Hey I was in a rush man. I saw the thread and did a quick look through and typed what I thought in my head. I can't help it if what I type isn't every 100% grammatically correct.

This ish was so so for me. I enjoyed it on a Thunderdome/The Arena level seeing characters fight each other but the art and the dialogue just killed it for me. Ramos and Bachelo are two artists I loathe, and they were the artists the two issues I read first.

Though, i didn't mind his Rhino and Mysterio, but Doc Ocks new armor looked dumb. I dont mind the his current state but Mecha Ock looked dumb.

Overall is was mediocre, I am curious of his world dominating plan of 2012 but this was a poor lead in.

The Good: Rhino vd Awesome Android and Sandman/Wizard convo.

The Bad: dialogue and and Mad Thinker getting taken out like a Ric Flair opponent.

The Ugly: The art.

Art: 2
Story: 3
Overall: 5

The Leader is a human, Ross is an Abomination, and the Abomination is dead?

That's what Loeb did? Really? :smt011
