Legendary artist Walt Simonson will join The Great One Brian Bendis on Marvel's Avengers starting with issue #25!

The Great One made this announcement on his facebook page today. Simonson will take over art chores as of Avengers #25. Bendis and Simonson will produce a six part arc that will tie in with Avengers vs. X-Men. It is unknown whether Simonson will continue on the book afterward, but this reporter hopes he will. We will have more info as it becomes available.

awesome news, just don't let him write it. nobody needs more Marrina sea monsters and lovesick Dr. Druid destroying the Avengers for Nebula. i trust Bendis more than i would Walt at this stage, Thor classic run be damned.

Now Bendis can have each page of his Avengers book be a splash page and extend the plot even longer.

Trust me, his writing stint on Avengers sucked. He stayed on just long enough to destroy the team Stern had put together, only to leave it as soon as he put together a team that didn't even last four issues (Cap,Thor, Reed, Sue, and Gilgamesh).

dude, the last stuff i read from Walt that he wrote were that terrible WW arc where she cut her hair, and OYL Hawkgirl. yeah...sad as it is to say, at this stage i'll take my chances with Bendis.
