We did #1 back in the day, but does this horror story still stand up?

I'll admit that some may say they are totally lost by not reading the last 5 issues but this book is so amazing I'd be surprised if that really effects so many.

This book just accomplished something that may have never happened before I was fucking scared out of my mind. This book is maybe the best horror comic I've ever read. I have kept up with the story since it's first time in the good old far superior to current days of the review group. And I am very much not sorry I did so. The book is atmospheric and dark and just plain frightening. It's very hard to review this book without going into cliches and superlatives. I'm just too close to how amazing this book is....so

This was really good. This whole mini has been fucking terrific. It really gets under your skin. Too many "horror" comics try to go for the cheap thrills with monsters, or zombies, or blood and gore or whatever.. but to me, the most effective kind of horror has always been the psychological kind. That feeling of dread when you turn a page, not knowing what to expect.. I can't remember the last time a comic really was able to capture that feeling.

I would love for Snyder to do more of this kind of stuff.

There's really not much else to say about this book. It was great, and this issue finally lays all the cards out for the finale next issue. I can't wait.

This was a decent issue from a decent series. I see a lot of ranting and raving about this, but I don't really see what all the hoppla is about. It's a good enough story, and the characters are pretty good, but I don't know that it will be all that memorable when it's over. It seems like it would work well as one solid story in a series or anthology.

It's difficult to judge the sixth issue in a seven issue mini, as we obviously get no resolution from it. It was okay and moved the story along to the climax, and I'll be reading the next issue, but it was unremarkable.

Unremarkable also describes the art in this series. It's not bad, but I don't think it really works for horror.

I don't find this all that scary.
