Yeah, I was watching Sherlock episode 2 yesterday and it got kind of annoying.

So did I. It was really tense and claustrophobic. Wonder if the American version will ever get round to some of these plots. Season 2 looks like it's going to be quite different from the British season 2.

I doubt that the American version would be willing to kill off Sam Witwer's character...

Unless he gets a better job on a movie or something!

But I was mostly thinking about the main story arc of the second series. I haven't heard any mention of it in stuff that I've read about the new season of the American version.

I'm looking forward to the next season of the US version. What they have done with the ghost character, and what it looks like they will be doing, is more interesting to me than the UK version's ghost.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

I feel like the US version is decent enough to watch, but not something I look forward to.

I don't like the actress they cast as the American annie. Neither as an actress, nor in terms of looks.

The other two I'm fine with, but she seems like a bad casting.

I like the US version but wasn't Annie/Sally's story just the same as in the British one?

Basically, but there is a bit more malevolence with Sally. From the previews, instead of being able to be seen by people and move things, it looks like she will possess people.

Did anyone see it?

George!

And also: I know that Sinead Keenan's departure left little choice, but killing Nina off-screen seems a bit of a shame. And I'm not entirely sure that the Terminator / Dollhouse dystopian future thing is a great fit for this show. I'll give it a chance, though.

Amazing.

Half way in I was like why'd they kill Nina"I hate it". But by the end of the episode I was hooked, in love and in tears.

Yes it could have been done differently but with two thirds of the main cast gone this series it makes no sense to keep Nina since her character was mostly there because of George. I think killing her (a new mum) on screen would have been distasteful IMO and George's death was made more meaningful because she was murdered.

The first episode has made a clean state to welcome these characters.

I'll be interested to see what you make of it. For better or worse, it's an entirely different show from now on.

Oh boy. Where to start...

I'll get the good out of the way first, I suppose, so I don't come off as too negative.

This did what Being Human does best - character moments. The ending was brutal. They really know how to amp up the emotional aspect on these things. Jesus..

[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
I didn't even know that werewolves could enter the transformation without a full moon.

Thats about it for the good, I guess.

Now the bad..

I hate the time jump between seasons. I understand that it couldn't be helped with Sinead Keenan leaving the show, but that's such a huge plot point to have offscreen. And the way they handled it all.. with them having to explain to us in that painful dialogue what happened.

"Oh golly gee wiz George, what happened to Nina? Why don't you tell me?"

Ugh. Just about every bit of dialogue between Tom and George or Annie in the first half of the episode was really cringe-inducing.

Again, I get that it couldn't be helped.. but there had to be some other way of doing it, or altering the story somehow. I don't know. It just didn't work at all for me.

And again.. all of the fallout of George/Annie/Nina's words to Windham in the season finale happened off-screen as well, between seasons. So George killed Windham, and as a result, the vampires killed Nina in retaliation.. that's A LOT to happen off-screen that was painfully told in exposition.

Another problem, although this has been building since last season.. how fucking worthless is Annie? Before George left the house, they even made it a point that they agreed she's capable of killing a vampire herself. So why does she do absolutely nothing with the vamp cop comes into the house? I understand once he has the baby, there was that threat looming over her.. but she could've just staked him when he first came in or something.

Just a lot of badly done plot elements that felt like they were thrown together to get the show to where they wanted it to be for the new status quo.

And don't even get me started on the ridiculous convenient plot device of having another ghost, vampire, and werewolf living together across town who also happen to be going through the same problems.

It's like a bad sitcom.

Now.. the future elements, and the ending with future-girl.. I thought she was adult Eve, but then she said she has to kill the baby? Either there's misdirection in leading us to think it's Eve, or she saw that she was the cause of the war or something... not quite sure how dying and going to the afterlife will change the past. Will she come out in the present through one of those afterlife-y doors?

It certainly made me think that the Vampire Recorder dude was lying, and she's not the human savior, but will actually cause the war to happen.

Either way, it's an interesting plot point for the season (series?) from here on out.

Faults and all, the second half of the episode pulled it together, as well as the end. I'll tune in, but the ridiculously convenient mashup of the other vampire/ghost/werewolf family with Tom and Annie really has me worried that we're bound for more stupidity.
