I'm thinking suspended animation is how the prisoners are in modern times. Possibly time travel for Parimender's character since there's the possibility that the sniper used a special bullet for her.

One aspect that I'm really fascinated about is the missing guards. I understand that if it was just criminals being used, it could be some secret evil-as-hell conspiracy. But what purpose do the guards serve? If they wanted to control the criminals, they can just use modern people. I really think the missing guards are the key to what is exactly happening.

Thats why I'm thinking theres some kinda subliminal message that they have. Like the dr getting shot, the key he didnt know why he needed, etc. They can do whatever they want but while they do whatever they randomly stop and do things they dont understand.

I have to say, this show reminds me way more of Fringe than it does Lost. Which is a good thing, I reckon.

Had to work last night so I just watched the new episode, and once again it was brilliant. Much more emotional episode this week I thought, dealing with child murders usually bring that out though. We see that the Doctor from the past is around the same age in the present, so that adds another layer to the mystery surrounding Alcatraz. I love Dr. Soto, he steals about every scene he is in I think. Seems like the "grandfather" is a key player in the mystery as well, so many things to think about while watching the show.

Dr. Beauregard's appearance was a plus. However, the rest of this episode was a bit of a downer though.

The book that was on Lucy's desk was called County Wide by H. Wynn Coleman. I can't hunt it down so it's probably a fake.

Too early for the emotional stuff with these characters we hardly know.

Hurley bugged me this ep.

He couldn't tackled the guy in the restaurant.

The pedo was frail, Hurley's weight would've held him at bay

Figured I bump this thread rather than comment in a review thread.

How old is Hauser supposed to be?
He's looks to be in his mid 20s in 1960 when he meets "Lucy" and then when he discovers the island empty in 63.
But he doesn't looks to be in his 70's in 2012.
He looks like what Sam Neil is, a fit 64 year old.

Is he missing a decade?

Best "guest" casting so far was the guy from True Blood as the returning missing guard, I'll be interested to see if he makes a return coming up by the end of the season.

Sam Neil's character is still in enough of the grey that while we as the watchers of the show know he's doing what's right for the world, it's obvious he's keeping some major secrets from the other cast members.

Also I really get the feeling Jack is going to end up on the team by the end of the season, he's the only one of the prisoners who when coming back he did kill people but is completely remorseful about it and was in the jail for just larceny if I'm not mistaken. He actually seems like a good person in general.

Also 2 episodes ago I loved the Sandman lines, Wesley Dodds getting a shout out even if he doesn't exist in the new 52 is fucking awesome!

I really enjoy the cast of the show over all and really hope the rest of the season (I'm assuming it's a 22 episode season like most shows?) is as strong as it's been.
