They do sound interesting, and I may give them a try sometime, (I've marked them for that down the road), but they're really not epic fantasy, nor by a new author, and are a bit more than I wanted to pay.
What I'm looking for is are more traditional epic fantasies, (I could go with half a dozen or more), priced at $.99 for Kindle, and by a first-time author. I'm willing to take a chance on someone with no or only a few reviews at that price point, since I view it as giving me more entertainment time spent than a comic book regardless, (though I haven't stopped with those either).
This is separate from my forays into steampunk and sci-fi. Just good traditional epic fantasy with maybe a twist or so is all I'm looking for.
