I went into a restaurant and order a meal to go, but didn't leave a tip. Should have I?

If I have to drive there to get it and I'm picking it up at the counter, so no one is bringing it out to me, then no.

I don't think so, no. A tip is normally for your waiter or waitress, which with take out is moot.

No way! Unless it was curbside pickup, and someone brought the food out to your car. But you said you went into the restaurant, so no.

because they're assholes. I never put money in those tip jars. The worst is the ones they have at Dunkin Donuts. I'm already paying for the product. They get paid to do the job. It's not like they're doing some extra special thing for me when they're grabbing my donuts or pouring my coffee.

I used to go to a place that was family owned, and well priced, and I tipped when I ordered a latte.

I tip more often at the local coffee joint* than I do at a Starbucks or DD.
