hey, there is a Grendel Omnibus vol. 1
in this month's Previews
depending on the DCBS discount, would this be a good place to correct my opinion?
It might. Thing is, I should mention that the original GN and Legacy were two parts of the original Beowulf story retold by Wagner with... ummm twists I guess you could say.
That is looking to be an awesome trade, given that it focuses on Hunter Rose, the first Grendel. I've always found his character to be the most interesting of them all. In a sense, it's like if you imagined Bruce Wayne chose not to fight crime but merely looked for the next great challenge. He's physically and mentally undefeated. To the public he's the prodigy wunderkind turned 20-something. But he chooses to spend his time behind a mask conquering the crime families of the east coast, becoming the ultimate boss. Or imagine Bruce and Damien get a personality mashup. That volume will cover the many little and major ins and outs, except for the Batman/Grendel crossover, of the character.
I'd say the price is nice and low. $24.99 for 600 pages... sweet. But then, I should note, I'm a fan.
