It was certainly better than House of M, which makes my list as the worst, totally unoriginal and unimaginative.

Also the after effects are still fucking up The Avengers imo.

hmmm.... does this count stuff you read in "floppy" format that is now in "graphic novel" or "trade" format, or did you have to read it in the latter two formats for it to count? If the second option is so, I would say that the worst graphic novel/TPB I've read is probably Daredevil: Fall From Grace.

I was kinda disappointed by Return to Perdition. It felt rushed. And the ending was meh. In my opinion, it shouldn't have been done.

EDIT: No, I wasn't kinda disappointed, I was REALLY let down by Return. I anticipated a lot from it because the Road to Perdition books were so very good. Maybe it was because it took place in the 70's. Bell-bottoms and bullets don't mix well.

Horrible stuff.

Aw, man. I liked Babe. It wasn't brilliant, but it was fun. Danger Unlimited was much better, though.

It's all good I guess. Considering how many story arcs and crossovers are in collected formats, it's fine by me.

Honestly, I didn't like his Dark Horse work. It's where I started not being thrilled to see his art and found the stories lacking and forgettable.
The local LCSes here had Babe in the quarter bin by the dozen.

But, that's what this is all about, tastes and how maybe we judge to quickly or maybe not enough. I should take another look at it.

I didn't like Babe either. That and Next Men are what started to turn me off Byrne's work, to be honest.

I don't tend to care about artists. I mean, I enjoy some of them more than others but it has never stoped me from reading something. As I said before, if you ever want to give Sandman a try, start with Endless Nights. It's the only volume I own physicaly: I also read the rest of them either borrowed from friends or from the library. It has even some Manara drawings :)

I'd have to say the worse Graphic Novel that I ever read was one I read in the library. I saw this nice cartoon-like characters on the cover with Mark Millar's name on top. I should have known by the title below, The Unfunnies, that there be no joy in reading this book.
