I don't tend to care about artists. I mean, I enjoy some of them more than others but it has never stoped me from reading something. As I said before, if you ever want to give Sandman a try, start with Endless Nights. It's the only volume I own physicaly: I also read the rest of them either borrowed from friends or from the library. It has even some Manara drawings
