Just like this week’s issues of Sweet Tooth and The Boys, this was one of those comics that make your mouth hang open with the sheer impact of what’s happening. This issue brought the conflict over the scourge virus to a head and brought everyone from Allen, Thragg to the Guardians Of The Globe together for a big confrontation. And it ended with Mark getting poisoned with the virus by his own brother! Holy fuck! Invincible has never shied away from doing crazy twists and shocker endings, but this one… woah. Will Mark die? It certainly looks that way, especially since the cover to #89 features that Black Invincible that was teased aaaages ago. I’m not sure where Kirkman is going with this, but I’m along for the ride fo’sho. Oh, and Oliver is a major dick in this issue, and I’m not just saying that because my own little brother is also called Oliver!

I really can't stand Oliver. Never could. He's a Newton of the highest degree, IMO.

Not all that much happened in this issue, though, despite the ending.

Any character named Oliver should be culled. They're always dicks and bastards who deserve to be given a horrible end.

Great issue as always!

Mark's face with the blood coming from his eyes & nose was very well done.

I have no idea where this book is going, and never truly have, which is what makes it one fo the best every single issue.

I bet Mark just ends up depowered. Kills the viltrumite part of his DNA and then he somehow gets his powers back by ish 100.

Or maybe he dies.

The end was something that even though I saw it coming, still shocked me.

Despite the fact that I really didn't care for him in the beginning, Oliver really started to grow on me. Unfortunately, his attitude towards the Scourge Virus and his unwillingness to listen to his father, Mark, or later Allen, have seriously caused me to rethink my opinion of him. I will be pissed if Mark dies because of something Oliver did but I doubt that Kirkman will kill him.

I hope not. I hate depowered stories.
