Oh and your golden god Bendis destroyed your argument about Hawkeye/Widow not being major players in the movie on the latest Bendis tapes.

How did he?

Maybe if you actually listened to the podcast but here:

"As a Clint Barton fan, you will love the Avengers movie"

Now I know you're going to pull your usual bullshit but in both trailer's, he's in a decent chunk of both, they've got an extremely popular actor playing him and now one of Marvel's lead writer's is saying that if you're a fan of the character you're going to love the movie.

No chance in hell he's not getting a nice chunk of screentime.

And once again, yes trick arrows.

I don't see him getting the screen time the others get, and I don't see trick arrows.

It was a broader response to the argument being raised. You were just the most recent post on the subject.

I'm sure hawkeye will have some cool moments but he's not a main character in this by a longshot

But I didn't say anything about Wasp or Ant-man? :smt102

Mind you I love them both but didn't say anything but either.

It's a grappling hook. Since when does it require CG to make a grappling hook? :?

I'd argue differently. I mean we know that it's Cap as the focal point of the movie but this is Whedon we're talking about. Whedon loves characters like Hawkeye. :smt102

Mind you I love them both but didn't say anything but either.

I'm explaining broadly why Hawkeye and Black Widow were picked to fill out the cast. Despite being founding Avengers, Ant-Man and Wasp are not popular characters, so they were out. Most of the other really well-known or popular Avengers are tied to other franchises (Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Spider-Man, Wolverine, etc.) or other potential franchises (Black Panther). So, Hawkeye and Black Widow make the most sense to include.

MrBlack wrote:They used Hawkeye and Black Widow because they're more recognizable characters. No one care about Ant-Man and the Wasp. No other Avengers are recognizable enough, or not tied up in another franchise.

No one knows Hawkeye or Black Widow any more than they know Wasp or Ant-Man.
