Rick Remender’s run kicks off in earnest with an enjoyable issue that not only introduced new team-members in Captain Britain and Giant-Man but also an interesting new threat. We already know that Remender knows how to write a team-book (and a stealth team-book at that) with X-Force and he manages the same blend of character interaction and action here. I really liked the scene where Captain Britain thought he had been made leader, and it looks like he and Hawkeye will have a very interesting relationship, one that’s rife with conflict. I’m torn on who to side for, whilst Hawkeye is of course awesome, as a Briton, I feel I should always stand behind our Captain. Damn this patriotism! Gabriel Hardman’s artwork was as high-quality as his Hulk stuff, and a good fit for this book, which requires not only crazy superhero fun but also a deal of darkness and mood. The new villains are intriguing, it looks like they are some kind of children of the Super-Adaptoid, I wonder how that works, and do they have any connection to the Shadow Council?

Bad art, Captain Britain, Hawkeye's unexplained costume change all this makes it just a bad story. I wanna like this book but its getting harder and harder.

Hawkeye's costume change is nothing to do with this book, it happened in Bendis' Avengers.

Gabriel Hardman is awesome.

And "lord fancy crack, ponce protector of the shire" should definitely be the heading of any Captain Britain mini or ongoing from here on out. :D

This one issue was a kajillion times better then the Ennis issues, even better than the Bru issues. I am actually really looking forward to this now.

I know and I keep hoping they'll explain it somewhere.

Does there really need to be an explanation?? Is Clint not capable of wearing differnet clothes with no explanation? Many of Marvel's females change costumes all the time, with no "explanation" why does Clint have to have an explanation.

In Clint's and your defense, the man changes costumes at the drop of a dime historically speaking.

Honestly? Remender knows how to write these characters and Gabe's artwork is perfect. Can't wait to see what the hell is going on via that last page!

I dunno. It felt... off to me. Didn't dig the art. I think the artist accidently drew Cap Britain
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
getting shot at the end of the book instead of one of the newer characters.
When the art actually impedes the story... that's a bad thing.

Oh wait...
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
It's a mini version of Cap.
So not as bad. Still... didn't dig it.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I wasn't really feeling this one.
