I'm gettin a Dagger vibe from ther last pic.

How did you do that, put paint on the bottom of a can? It's a nice effect.

nah I got one of those circle "rulers" for lack of a better term and I drew the circle with a pencil while the paint was still wet

Ah, the circle template. One of my best friends. I need a new set of french curves though.

The inspiration was the Wolvie/Hulk thing, but I was trying to think of who in the 90's may have done it. I keep coming up with a blank.

I feel like it was done on some image books (but like you the wolverine/hulk cover is the only thing that comes to mind)

Ah, I like this a lot. From the pose to the final. I do think a little separation would be better here between figure and the paint, which I think is the reason I like the vectorized piece better.
