Right in the quote you posted "He told the audience, "I like to give a special shout out to my table... and I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry - thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."

Now that could be a coincidence but I doubt it. Dude like's The Phantom and that's cool. I love the old school heroes.

Really, strikes me as it isn't. When was it a killer the last time? I honestly cannot think of the last celeb that it harmed.

sadly, there will be no full frontal in the movie, but I can fantasize about it

I hear you. I still crave Demi Moore to go full frontal in GI Jane to this day.

He was in the final running with Brandon Routh and got paid quite a bit for WB to keep the option until they made the final casting decision.

It's still a concern within the acting circles. Here are recent articles.

Queer celebs are starting to get more accepted as queer rights are being more accepted, but there's still stigmas. Rupert Everett did an interview a while back warning any queer actors to stay in the closet if they wish to have success and mentioned how he had a lot of closeted friends who, once they come out, would be hell for them.

That's cause singer casts movies as if he's casting possible dates.

All you've pointed out is a paranoia of coming out. No one there has specifically indicated that it truly did injury to their career. That's my point, at this point there is no reason as there is no modern evidence of it being harmful. This boils down to paranoia based on what happened to gays years ago. As I asked, when was the last time it did damage and provable damage? I can't think of it since the 80s or maybe the early 90s.

This is why I see this as so silly a thing. It's the media and some being paranoid and if anything, feeding that paranoia.

I had no idea. Then again, I seem to be the only person in the universe who thought Jodie Foster was straight so I guess my gaydar is pretty fucking faulty.

It's not even just paranoia. There's been out actors who have mentioned that coming out lessens their chances for certain roles and how they can be marketed. A lot of celebs that have been coming out have pretty much been breaking that barrier. There's a crap ton of stuff/politics that happens behind the scenes when it comes to casting for projects. One's "outness" tends to play a part whether you see it or not.

Good for him: I think it's a wonderful thing that there are more and more out and proud role models for kids to look up to. Also: for anyone who doesn't watch it, White Collar is a fantastic show.
