Showcase: Showcase - while I've most of the highlights of that run in original or reprint 9Flash, , I've never seen the off issues or backups (Frogmen, Space Ranger, the 1st Rip Hunters, etc). :smt026

Yep. It's getting to the point where I have to consider not picking up certain interesting new titles because there's not much I'm willing to drop in order to make way for them.

Yep, I wasn't really willing to drop anything this month from DC, unfortunately Marvel is not the same I dropped 3 titles last month. DC is just pulling my interest, apart from Marvel's select titles like Wolverine and the X-men, Daredevil etc

I'm dropping Marvel books a lot, but DC have only managed to hook me with one of their new titles to replace Action Comics. Vertigo actually managed to put me off first issues of two of their new ongoings with that preview magazine, I'd have likely bought issues of New Deadwardians and that Voodoo woman had they done the $1 #1 thing with them.

Well, it's kinda hard to justify getting more Marvel when almost all of their interesting concepts can't fulfill order prerequisites, which indirectly leads to their movie and project characters getting overexposed. From there, you have a feeling of staleness, due to the atrophying effect that takes place.

The DC Universe has a different set of issues (The great majority of DC's characters are probably the least engaging as I've ever seen them, along with the storytelling in a majority of books seems infected with craft of the lowest common denominator), but they're at least using a wider range of characters and concepts, giving themselves much more potential to become gold if the right creative teams are allowed to engineer storylines that can grow into something amazing, which puts them lightyears ahead of current Marvel long term.

As for Vertigo, to say I'm fucking excited is an understatement. I never miss an Issue #1 of their output simply due to the fact that it was their output that got me back into comics in the first place, but each of these comics sounds really good and I hope I keep following all 4 of them for as long as they're published.
