I don't have to worry about that where I live. I have to worry about whackos coming in to church with a 12 gauge in order to kill liberals.

He's still a turd no matter which way he votes.

Well if you were in St Paul you'd have all the loons outside of the convention to deal with.

If I thought Thompson sucked, I would have said so. I told my wife "this guy will put us to sleep, he sucks." and was totally blown away.

I just think reviews tend to hit home with more people when you leave the slant out of it, as much as possible anyhow.

I didn't think it sucked by any means and I thought Thompson probably did the best job. But if someone thinks Obama's speech was a 10 out of 10, Thompson's was not a half notch below that. And most people seem to think Obama's speeches are pretty good, even the people that don't like him.

I thought Laura Bush did well, I like her more than her husband, but personally I thought she lost a bit of that charm last night. They seemed to be using her as a bit of an attack dog and that hurt her image in my view. Though I still think her speech went pretty well.

Bush was Bush, still trying to scare up votes and keep the republican party viewed as the only ones that can protect us from 9/11 by running around the world attacking people.

Thompson did the best, like I said, and he was a good attack dog. You are right in that he was much more interesting than when he himself was running. My only issue is it was like some of the DNC speeches as well by some of the folks like Kerry, where it was just pandering to your base and the only people that I think he got riled up were the people that are already riled up and just looking for a reason to clap. You want a 8, 9 or 10 out of a speech, then inspire people that aren't already in your pocket.

Lieberman, he was boring and pandering to the audience of course, they all do; I'm just curious to see what happens to his career as he clings to mccain this year. He did try to speak out to other besides the republicans, but it didn't seem like he gave them many reasons to other than to trust his example of supporting his friend b/c he thinks mccain is a good man.

"if John McCain is just another Republican, then I'm Michael Moore's favorite Democrat."

Thanks for the explanation Joe.

I want to kick his melted-wax face. He's only interested in Israel's safety and wants us to make the world safe for his people.

It does kinda feel that way, but I wouldn't say that's his only interest -- maybe a Top 3 concern.

Of course. He's Jewish so he's part of the conspiracy to protect only Israel and "his people."

Makes sense.

The radical Islamicists say the same thing about the US. Controlled by the Jews, for Israel.

Used to be, only whacky rightwingers said those things.

His other two top concerns are:

1. Catching that wascally wabbit
2. Preventing his face from further melting

I get the same feeling. If it was Korea instead of Iraq or Iran, Lieberman would be against the war. I think picking him for VP would have been a big disaster.
