I like Richard Dawkins! Of course I mainly read his books before he became the spokesperson for secularism, I guess.

I guess I'm not really interested in 'this group is just as annoying as that group' conversations. I'm more interested in the question of whether there's a God or not. The rudeness of various people has pretty much nothing to do with that.

As atheism is the disavowal of something, I guess the answer would be yes. There are atheist, such as Dennett, who are trying to define their beliefs without reference to religion, but, one, the disavowellers (?) came first and, two, they're really just trying to turn their disavowalling (meh, why not?) up to 11.

I'm an atheist, but that's not my existence. Technically, if there had never been a single person who believed in God, then everyone would be atheist without knowing it.
