Avengers vs. X-Men

The more I see of this, the more excited I get.

The new solicits look cool and the series has a Contest of Champions vibe. Issue #6's cover has Gambit vs. Cap and Spidey vs. Colossusnaut.

And, it's not all written by Bendis which means that something may actually happen.

That's the key.

It just looks like teams of X-Men meet up with teams of Avengers and we get some 1-on-1 fights.

Works for me.

AVX VS #2 (OF 6)

(W) Kieron Gillen, Steve McNiven (A) Salvador Larroca, Steve McNiven (CA) Salvador Larroca

• The premier tie-in to AVENGERS vs. X-MEN! • SPIDER-MAN vs. COLOSSUS • CAPTAIN AMERICA vs. GAMBIT

That's pretty cool IMO.

I'm looking forward to it. Though it does seem a little mismatched. Remember the Avengers vs. Guardians of the Galaxy match-up? Most of the X-Men seem a little underpowered when compared to the Avengers.

Not if you factor in some of the Avengers they are using.

For example, one issue of X-Men: Legacy has She-Hulk, Falcon and Moon Knight attacking a team led by Rogue. Sounds like an easy X win.

Black Widow, Mockingbird, Falcon, Moon Knight, and most of Cage's loser team aren't that strong compared to X-Men.

True but it's only the tie-in series. I think he can handle writing fights.

good call
I didn't even notice that

I'm not planning on picking AVX up unless I hear good things about specific fights

hopefully I can also avoid any books drawn by Ramos *shudder*

Despite the incredible suckiness of Jeph Loeb, I found myself inexplicably excited for this event by the last issue of X-Sanction.

Yeah, can't wait.

I don't think the X-Men as a whole are outmatched. First off they have about a dozen telepaths. With that alone, they shouldn't really ever lose, if you think about it.

Then on top of that they have all kinds of random people like Magneto, Juggernaut/Colossus, Kid Gladiator and an army of two hundred mutants. Plus, possibly a Phoenix.

Emma and Psylocke alone make the Avengers out matched.
