Rest assured, if actual comic book fans aren't liking it, its as good as canceled. No regular people will get it. Sucks for me :-/

I like that, "regular people"...

I decided to give the show one last try but I'm done now.
I'd like to punch that fucking Walt in the face for being such a dick to that Ming kid.
The other guys are pointless for the show. Boring, boring, boring.
Fork. show. done.

I thought it was ok, I liked the parts about people bringing in shit and trying to sell them only to be denied bc they grossly overvalued their stuff. Yes they are being dicks to the asian kid but he puts up with it so I'm not gonna feel bad for him.

I liked the guy who wanted $100 for his Crisis collection.

I finally saw the pilot, and I thought it was incredibly boring. Maybe it'll get better, but right now there's not much to watch there. If Kevin Smith just wanted to do a bull session with some comic book people, there's a better way to go about that.

I couldn't make it through the first episode. When the d-bag was bringing in the Bob Kane sketch, it was painful to watch. At least people on Antiques Roadshow or Pawn Stars don't sound like they're reading a script or being coached what to say.
I like Kevin Smith and would be interested in hearing him just bullshit with his friends, but this format seems too forced and edited. It also makes comics fans look like we all live up to the stereotypes.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I think they've confused trying to have interesting television personalities with being utter dicks. It's not Howard Stern. It perpetuates some of those comic book guy stereotypes to the point where I would avoid Kevin Smith's shop myself.

They are douchey but lots of hard core comic geeks are very douchey as well

True. All it takes is a trip to a comic book convention to realize the stereotypes are justified.

Hard core comic geeks are very socially inept and tend to get very defensive bc they've probably been picked on a lot...the stereotypes are pretty spot on IMO

That's kind of the problem for me, it seems like less an attempt to make comics more accessible than to show how off-putting their readers can be.

Oh it's totally making fun of themselves, I don't think the show is really meant to promote comics...a big draw of the show is to show how weird and batshit insane lots of collectors are

Is Kevin Smith's store the best place to try to sell something valuable? I'm sure he has a decent amount of cash on-hand, but would his store really have people that could do anything more than look up the CBG value?

Yeah, I know, it just seems like such a narrow, uninviting view of (superhero) comics fans. Unfortunately maybe it's accurate.
