I bought and watched the Blu ray over the week and man what a amazing movie that is. It's hard to believe that the movie is over 40 years old and still hold up visually
who else is a fan ?

so I was reading more about the books (there were 3 after 2001) and I dunno apparently it's all about the monoliths and the aliens that made them.I'm really happy they didn't get into that stuff in the movie because I feel like part of what makes 2001 amazing is how open to interpretation it is

I have a friend who recommends reading the whole deal, but I haven't. I do want to see 2010 again now, even though I know it's not half the movie 2001 is. I like the original Dr Heywood Floyd in the first film best.

Great movie. One of my favorites, despite the last 10 minutes which I have no idea what's going on. It's pretty amazing especially when you consider the era when it was made.
