Ditto. Thank you. That's how I see it as well.

Now, DC just needs to officially announce that rumored Robins book by Jeff Lemire, dang it! :P

LOL, sorry, but I find that funny. Copying marketing strategy isn't going to make Avengers Vs X-Men as well-written and illustrated as books like Batman, Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, The Flash, et cetera.

And half a year and counting is a little bit more than "temporary" in my book.

I find it funny that you consider excrement like the Flash to be well written.

Also it's about six months since the the NuDCU has been going, and they've only done better than Marvel in one or two of those months.

I am not doubting that DC has a couple of really well written books on their hands. I'm saying the number of well written books is less than the number of books that are complete and utter shit.

But that's also true of Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and IDW. Hell it's true of movies, albums, books, tv shows and cups of coffee. 'Some is great, but it's mostly shit' applies to the entirety of existence.

Actually, DC held the #1 spot on the Diamond charts for 3 months in a row--a full quarter. Then Marvel came back in December, but lost both Unit Share and the whole Top Ten to DC the following month. That's more than a month or two.

And I'm definitely not the only one who loves Manapul & Buccellato's Flash. Plus, it's getting 4 star reviews on multiple sites.

See I would not say that about Marvel right now. The number of good books coming out of the Marvel universe outnumber the Deadpool/Daken/crap titles.

DC is like a freshly washed pair of socks. It smelled like shit when you put them in the wash. It came out smelling and feeling great after it comes out, but then you realize there's still a giant hole where your toe pokes out.

People still feel freshly washed DC, but there are too many Scott Lobdells and Bob Harrases that will remind everyone that DC is like a gaping hole full of disgusting toe fungus.

I strongly disagree. The New 52 DC is nothing like the post-Identity Crisis DCU. Primarily, because *this* DCU is a success both commercially and critically. The New 52 consistently gets more good reviews than bad--and these stories are selling in higher numbers than ever.

The DCnU is heavily editorially-driven. It's not all over the place and chronically disorganized. On the contrary, there's an obvious overarching vision for all the storylines and it is being very tightly controlled by editors. DC early in the last decade wasn't nearly this controlled and regimented. The writers are "coloring within the lines" if you will. They have their ideas, but I think it's clear that any story direction has to stay within the larger editorial vision for the entire line.

DC in 2012 is way, way more consistent than DC in 2004 or 2005.

I think you meant post-Infinite Crisis, post-Identity crisis had as just as many if not more titles worth reading as it does now.

Oh, hell no. Sorry, nothing personal. But take away Daredevil and Captain America and the mountains of crap coming out of Marvel these days is astounding. I mean, Avengers Vs. X-Men? That's their big "new" idea? Seriously?

The 2 biggest teams go to war...what's bad about that? We knew Cyclops was turning into Magneto and this is the breaking point.

It's fun, simple and has almost all their major characters in the middle.

Hickman's stuff is better than anything being cranked out by DC.

I'd put Snyder and Lemire up against anything from Hickman by a mile.

Though I secretly hope/pray that Hickman will one day get a shot at writing his old fave, Legion Of Super-Heroes  -- I'd buy that for *more* than a dollar!

Snyder has been good on Batman, Lemire is not in the conversation.

Still though Secret Warriors, Fantastic Four, FF and SHIELD still outdoes Snyder, especially now that it's all being tied together.
