Nah. I don't think so. Pandora seems to me to be the lynchpin for Morrison's long-promised Multiversity.

And there's no reason for them to go back when sales are way up and they've cockblocked Marvel out of the Top 10.

If sales start dropping, they can do just as big an event by returning to the real DCU and doing some giant story about that.

Especially if it involved some big milestone numbers for Detective or Action or Batman or whatever.

Oh yeah. That wouldn't surprise me. But that's if sales go down. How long can DC maintain their sales dominance?

EDIT: Personally, *I* wouldn't call it brilliant. And I'd rather they didn't go back. I'm happy with what we've got.

Overall i'd say its good, but i'm still way more impressed with Marvel then i am with DC.

You are biased.

Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Avengers Academy, Avengers: The Children's Crusade, Captain America, Daredevil, Defenders, Hulk, Incredible Hulk, Journey into Mystery, New Avengers, New Mutants, Scarlet Spider, Secret Avengers, Mighty Thor, Punisher, Thunderbolts, Uncanny X-Force, Venom, Winter Soldier and Wolverine are all good titles.

You are focusing on AvX because it's not out yet and you don't like the concept.

Marvel has on average better writers than DC which still has people like Lobdell, Daniels, McDaniels, Higgins, Wallace, Glass, Krul and Van Sciver writing.

I think it's a mixed bag. Some of it is really good (Batman, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, etc) and some if it is absolutely terrible (Teen Titans, Green Arrow, Hawkman).

The one thing that I still don't understand is why a complete continuity reboot was necessary. I feel like the good books are more or less consistent with pre-Flashpoint stuff and any of the stuff where they reset continuity isn't very good.

I like that they're taking some chances on stuff like Swamp Thing and Animal Man but again, did they need to reset continuity to do this? I feel like they could easily have done these pre-Flashpoint. And I like that they're integrating the Wildstorm stuff into the regular DCU, although the execution leaves something to be desired particularly on Stormwatch. But at the same time, I miss books like Secret Six and Booster Gold.

I also think it's become very apparent that DC simply doesn't have the depth in creators to put out 52 high quality books. There's good stuff and then there's about a third of the line that's just crappy filler.

So to sum up my feelings, I think DC is better than it was 7 months ago but that's because they put good writers with good ideas on a number of their books. Not because of continuity changes.

The reason for the continuity changes is to back up the "new reader friendly" marketing (actually returning readers, but that's neither here nor there).

This. And it cracks me up that in the GL books they talk about Batman and Supes like they've known them for years but then you go to the new JL book and they are meeting each other for the first time.

I honestly think that is some piss poor storytelling. I'm happy DC is hitting a new high. But the stuff that changed post Flashpoint really seems to be the crap that sucks. :smt102
