Part of me wants to say they may have planned it like that, so that the focus was on what was happening drama wise.

i mean New Directions could have sang names out of the phone book and they still would have won, since its the majority of the characters senior years, they have to get the nationals.

I get what you are saying about focusing on the drama. And I guess The Warblers could have fallen apart after Blaine left. But New Directions added considerable talent. They should be able to at least come close to matching their performance in episode 13.

The more i think about this episode the more i like it. I really enjoyed most of the music (besides that one),and Blaine rapping was absolutely fantastic ( maybe its because i just love that song in general though). One thing though, ( and don't take this the wrong way e-gal), but i kinda wish that karofsky bit it. That would've been so ballsy and shocking and really driven the point home better than any, " hey guys im okay now!" would have. Karofsky isn't a main character, and the show probably won't even use him after this anyways, they might as well gotten rid of him in the most shocking moment ever. Can you imagine two shocking moments in one episode? that wouldve destroyed the internet.

i actually thought they were gonna kill him.. that had been the leading theory of what they were gonna do with him last year after the prom episode. i agree having him actually die would have made the whole point of the episode that much more. Honestly i don't know one way or the other if they will bring him back, the actor has said he hasn't been told yet, but then again he wasn't ever told he was coming back in season 3 after he left.

I know the show was trying to cover a sensitive subject, and I know a lot of you saw it as really personal, but the show isn't good enough or consistent enough to handle this sort of stuff in the way it deserves.

That said, it had some good moments, like Kurt and Karovsky in the hospital. The show has always been something that can put together a great scene or two like that, and Kurt in particular has always been really good when given good dramatic material, so it wasn't a shock by any means that it was such a good scene.

As for the music, it was the weakest competition they've done, IMO. I know the music was secondary to the plot in this case, but it was still an issue.

And of course, the show continues to be wildly inconsistent about the portrayal of Sue, the timing of various events (regionals and cheerleading nationals seem to have both taken place at 3 different times in three seasons, not to mention the ridiculous rezoning that must happen every year to make the rules for who they face in which round so different). And I think the wedding stuff is ridiculous, and the way the kids mostly have no family (I mean, Rachel's parents were clearly here for the first time, despite being so supportive) is a pet peeve I've always had.

I'm not a big fan of the final moment either, but whatever, it is what it is. The show shits on that character all the fucking time and has flipped their personality so much that I'm not shocked they did something like this as soon as their life seemed to be in order.

So basically, I felt it was an OK episode, better than many this year, but still far from flawless and one of the weaker competition episodes they've ever done. It certainly wasn't on par with the best episodes the show has done (like when Kurt's father had a heart attack or the first season finale or whatever).

This was the second episode of the season that I've watched and everything you said is absolutely correct. But I lay all the blame on Ryan Murphy who despite the anti-bullying campaign king is really just a giant bully of his cast or anyone that disagrees with him. Aragon is ready to be a star, unfortunately she's not dead but will be paralyzed and done at the end of the season. Seriously Murphy is the worst.

Murphy definitely has some really bullying tendencies with people that disagree with him.

I thought the scene at the beginning with Kurt telling Quinn that she has no idea the pressures of being gay and that that's far worse than anything she's been through was particularly fucked up and unneeded.

Too bad she's not good enough to be a legitimate star. She's b-list at best. She's good but she cant carry a show let alone a movie.

Not sure what part of that frustrates me more, Agron becoming a star or Quinn not being killed off.
