Big deal. So he helped a personal friend. So did Arnold Schwarzenegger when he reduced the sentence of his friend's son who was convicted of stabbing a kid to death. That doesn't mean he'd do the same for you or I.

Key point and why I'm not entirely convinced:

Lt. David Peterson of the Montville Township Police told PolitiFact four years ago that police reports do not mention Romney personally. But Peterson, as well as reports at the time, agreed that the Bain Capital search generated important attention to the case of the missing girl.

The guy had political aspirations then. There's no way he wouldn't have found a way to promote himself.

Strange though how none of the others including the Prez himself ever did anything like that. And how he didn't put it out front and center that he did it. Obama would have. In fact, Obama likely wouldn't have even mentioned the girl.

Of course, sometimes, every once in a while, someone does something that isn't driven by polls.

If Bain was involved, then Im sure Romney was very hands on about this. This sounds like the kind of thing that as a Mormon he’d do for a girl lost to drugs in the big bad city. And I can see not publicizing it

Im not going to get into what ifs about what other people would publicize if they were involved. That’s just sheer speculation.

And of course you're very quick to chalk up what Romney did to your very own hypothetical. At least with Romney, we have a action and a result that give the appearance of altruism, with no indication of anything else, (though you insinuate that there is).
