I was actually told something similar by Citibank customer service when I was in Spain. I was working as a teacher, and some arsehole duped my card and stole all the money we had in the bank. Citibank knew that the money had been stolen and that insurance would make sure that it was reimbursed, but when I asked them if I could at least have an emergency overdraft to buy some groceries to tide us over they told me no. The woman on the phone said that there was nothing she could do and that I ought to have had a better paid job. Because, you know, if there had been more money in the account the crooks who ripped me off would have been sure to have left it there...

This is why I hate Citibank. I've dealt with them in the past and they are garbage. Complete and utter garbage. Professionalism is an unknown to them, except as arrogant garbage.

I knew an investment manager at Citibank who was stealing from his clients. It was a tremendous embarrassment for them, to say the least.

When I was bartending, people were generally pretty good about tipping, but there were always those shitheads once in a while who would leave nothing behind. I chalked that up to obliviousness for a while, but I did often wonder how many people thought it was "beneath" them.

One of my friend's girlfriends doesn't tip at all. She got pissed at me for giving a pizza delivery guy a $3 tip. Now, whenever we go out with her (which is rare because I think her boyfriend is embarrassed by it), I leave an extra large tip in full view just to piss her off.

Personally I don't see the need for tipping. Why tip someone for a job I'm capable of doing myself? I can deliver food. I can drive a taxi. I can, and do, cut my own hair. I did, however, tip my urologist, because I am unable to pulverize my own kidney stones.
