I'd say with movies, it would be when I saw the Rwandan film Gray Matter last spring. The time before that was the previous night, when I saw the film Beyond the Black Rainbow. God those films were phenomenal.

In terms of music, I was blown away a couple of weeks ago when I saw Testament live with Anthrax and Death Angel. The other two bands were really good too, but Testament was incredible. The time before that was when I saw Enslaved live last fall. That was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

The last time I was blown away by anything on television would probably the series finale of The Shield. That whole series was incredible, but that ending is one of the best endings I've ever seen for a show.
The witness said Mr Brown then called out to Ms Hay's adult daughter: "Look at this, I'm tittie-f***ing your mother!".

That last episode blew me away too. Was the last time before the last time the last two lines of dialogue in the penultimate episode? There is something about that scene that really impacted me.

In music? The last time I was really "blown away" by a song might be Conversation 16 by the National. That shit is amazing. The whole album was really great. The last Evidence album was the closest since.

Movies? Anything with Michael Fassbender. :-D

Comics? Hmmm I'm not sure. The last comic that I read that absolutely floored me was Promethea. Otherwise the closest I've come to really enjoying a comic to the point where I was so impressed that it blew my mind completely... new stuff I'd say Proof, Chew and Morning Glories. Old stuff, reading the Kirby's 4th World omniboo.

TV: Person of Interest. Honestly the best network 1-hour drama show I've watched in YEARS.

Musicwise, Duncan Sheik's concept album for Whisper House was even better than Spring Awakening IMO. :smt026

Movie: Viva Riva!

Comic Book: Batman #5 (really, one of the best issues that I've ever read)

Music: My Morning Jacket, "Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Pt.2"

TV Show: The pilot episode of The Walking Dead

Book: The Drunkard's Walk (an exceptional book on the development and history of statistics; sounds dry, but is fascinating)

By a movie? Kill List. I watched the first 15 minutes a month ago and stopped. I was incredibly bored with it. On a recommendation, I decided to stick through the whole thing last week and wow.. I was a jackass. That movie is unbelievable.. it's still stuck in my head.

By a comic book? Y: The Last Man. I cried when
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
Agent 355 died
and I realized I haven't felt this strongly about characters from a piece of fiction in a very long time. It was a subtle realization and I curse Brian K. Vaughn for making me feel.

By music? Tame Impala. I'm not into 'psychedelic rock', but I love some of their songs, particularly Expectation and 41 Mosquitoes Flying In Formation.

By a TV show? Veronica Mars. I thought it was going to be a lot of BS teen drama crap, but then I caught it while it was streaming on Netflix and I can't believe how great that first season was. The second one wasn't bad, either.. but the first one was fantastic.

By a book? Not a full book, but the short story called Twittering From The Circus Of The Dead by Joe Hill. I read it in a zombie compilation book, and the whole story is told in Twitter form. I was completely enthralled with the story, I found it was written very well and I couldn't rave enough about it.

Hmm, the last comic would probably be the Madrox & Siryn baby issue from X-Factor.

Last music, I couldn't really say. TV show, the first two seasons of Eureka. Absolutely loved that show before the writer's strike.

Movie - Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Music - AC/DC live in concert in 2009

TV - 24 Season 1 (I saw it when the show was already into Season 5), Veronica Mars Season 1 (when the show was in Season 2)... I don't know which came first and don't really feel like looking it up.

Comic Book - The first time I read Kingdom Come (when it came out).

It happens fairly often.

TV show --> Once Upon a Time (two months or so ago)
Comic Book --> Joe the Barbarian (a month or so ago)
Movie --> Slumdog Millionaire (this week end)
Music --> Legendary Tiger Man - Fuck Christmas I got the Blues (two weeks ago)

The season 5 finale of The Shield truly blew me away. Might be the most shocking episode of a show I've ever seen in my whole life.

Iron Man blew me totally away, and the final scene promising a future Avengers movie was incredible. Then again, the actual Avengers trailer at the end of Cap took that to another level. It wasn't so much the whole move, as I fully expected it to be great, but just the trailer.

Seeing Eric Clapton live a few years ago was the last music moment that blew me away.

In comics, the last arc of Aaron's PunisherMAX pretty much told the ballsiest Punisher story of all time and did things I really didn't expect.

Book would probably be the last Dark Tower book. I'm not big on reading fantasy or sci-fi, so most books I read have at most one or two sequels, so that was by far the longest series I've ever read and it was awesome to see it wrap up.

TV - The Vampire Diaries. When it first started I figured it would just be the usual CW glamorous nonsense, but it's actually one of the best shows on TV.

Book - Shame by Salman Rushdie. I didn't expect to like it at all, but it's one of the most breathtakingly well-written books I've read in a very long time.

Music - First Aid Kit. Two very young Swedish sisters who make the best, spookiest Americana music. Really outstanding.
